We hired a bus for a half day group tour of a couple of wineries, a brewery and a cider house for a family re-union. Mark our driver was super helpful and accommodating, encouraging us to have a great time, and putting up with our singing (which got progressively better of course...) and our ditty's! Everyone had a fantastic day out and raved about it afterwards.

Art Deco Bus Hire - We hired Mark and the bus for a 4 hour hire a bit of a ticky tour and lunch at the Puketapu hotel (another recommendation). Mark was fantastic he showed us some lovely sights and was very informative. He had to leave us at lunch to do another tour and Merv was just as friendly and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend using this company we had a fantastic time.

After a shuttle bus run from the port into town we easily found Merv our driver and our bus called Veronica. Merv provided good commentary pointing out key highlights on our tour. Our bus also had a rear viewing platform which was great for taking pictures. A great tour and lovely town.

Went with Mark down to Wellington for the All Blacks vs Ireland, what a spectacular trip and exceptionally hosted. Everything was organised perfectly and all timings were bang on . Really look forward to the next trip.

We arrived late but Mack went out of his way to accommodate us. He drove us around in an old Black London cab which was comfortable. He took me around town and then to the oldest winery in New Zealand. He then drove back to pick up my wife so we could go to a Chocolate Factory and shop.
We were expecting a cruise or Harbour tour given the tittle of the activity but were informed it was an excursion for a cruise ship. I hope the name can be changed in the future.

My wife and I pre-booked this before leaving Australia and to our surprise we were on the bus with only three other passengers - heaps of room in the air conditioned bus! Mark the owner/driver was a great bloke and very knowledgeable to the region and NZ. The Art Deco bus had an open deck on the back where you could stand on such a beautiful day and take photos whilst on the move and still hear the commentary. The sights included the historic buildings of Napier, the Waharoa Gateway & Star Compass, Silky Oak Chocolate factory, the Mission Estate Winery and the old National Tobacco Company Ltd building. This was a great value tour for being our first visit to Napier, especially as cruise ship passengers with limited time to see the wonderful highlights. Mark timed our return to the i-Site visitor centre with perfection before the local streets were shutdown for the city's Christmas Parade. We recommend Mark and "Veronica" and the ‘Deco City Discoverer’ tour but note he does have "Belle" too. Thanks Mark for a wonderful tour.

This was a lovely tour in a Art Deco Bus made to look like it was from the 1930’s. After an informative drive around Napier and the surrounding area our driver, Merv, took us to a chocolate factory then on to one of the oldest wineries in the region, Mission Wines, There was a $10 extra charge but we’ll worth it, the wines were delicious!
I would recommend this tour to those who want to see the area in the Art Deco style!

The weather was perfect and Napier was shining in all its art deco glory. The Art Deco Bus collected passengers from our cruise ship, Ovation of the Seas, at portside. We have the best three hour tour, with a wonderful driver who supplied non-stop information about all that Napier could offer, as well as in-depth knowledge of the local surrounds and history.

We visited Mission Winery, Chocolate Factory, and several other beautiful cultural spots where we were able to take photos and learn more of the cultural history of Napier. Partook of a wine tasting at Mission Winery which was excellent and for the $10 NZ charged we also received a lovely wine glass each. Very good value and informative....and wine was excellent.

The chocolate factory was a favourite with all the passengers as well. This is definitely a well organised, informative and fun cruise ship excursion. Highly recommended. Don't miss out.

I booked this shore excursion prior to leaving Australia through the Napier i-Site Visitor Centre. The communication and booking process was excellent and on the day we knew exactly where to go to board the Art Deco Bus for our morning tour.
The bus is roomy and comfortable and the tour took us through the city itself, along Marine Parade, then inland passing vineyards and orchards. We made a few interesting stops - at a chocolate factory, Mission Estate Winery etc - and passed by some gorgeous Art Deco architecture, all the while learning about the history and re-emergence of this beautiful city following the devastating earthquake. We were back in plenty of time to catch the shuttle back to our ship.

We had a brilliant time on this trip. We were lucky enough to be in a car on our own with an excellent guide. We saw all the sights and even went back to see more art deco properties. We had a great day which helped greatly by our guide. This trip is certainly worth doing. The cost may seem a little high but it includes wine tasting at the Mission the oldest winery in New Zealand and so it is good value.
