Has a tapas menu that is extremely limited, about 8 dishes, from my experience a tapas menu has a lot more on offer, and were way over priced for what we got, 6 small pieces of pork belly for $24. Did have a great wine list that was reasonably priced. Visited on a Sunday lunch time and was very quiet, not the vibrate atmosphere we were expecting and the staff could do some work on their friendliness. The icing on the cake was to be told when we went to pay the was a surcharge to use a credit card! This was not noted on the menus. Credit card fees are a tax deductable cost of business and should not be on charged in this day and age of a cash less society, especially given what they are charging for their tapas!

Two of us ordered three tapas dishes. This was more than enough for us. The dumplings had a light pastry and were packed full of a delicious lemongrass chicken filling. The smoked fish pate was fantastic and the olives and nuts divine. The meal was washed down with some very nice wine and local beers. The service was excellent.

If the food wasn't so good it would be a one!!!!I I don't think any of the staff actually wants to be here!!!!

We are part of the Napier Art Deco Tour and what a massive let down!

We were meant to be treated to a tour of the barrels.... we felt like the dude was completely put out by our arrival. Following a tasting at the Misson - we were expecting to taste the wine!!!! My father had to ask for more!!!!

The lady doing our tasting was less enthused than a cat in the sun.

We ordered a beer paddle and for the first time tasting beer all around the world were told to read the wall after a hasty explanation!

What a bitterly disappointing end to a fabulous day!!!

The third stop on our exceptional wine tour of Napier, probably the best for wines tasted being of great quality without being too expensive. Also for the commentary of our hostess, who looked out for us all very well, enjoyed this pace and the walk through the egg barn! was amazing, such wonderful ambience and character, will be coming back that's for sure.

Being regular visitors to Napier, we wanted to try a different winery. Two of us love chardonnay and two don't so wondered how this was going to go down. It was great! Not your usual winery - particularly because it is urban and not surrounded by grape vines - but it was a great experience. The tastings were all Tony Bish chardonnays which are just beautiful. But you could also get a beer tasting platter or buy glasses of other wines so we were all happy. The wine tasting was fabulous value for money; the staff were really knowledgeable; and if you purchased a bottle you got your wine tasting fee deducted (and the wine was so good we just had to buy a bottle). They also serve food but we didn't have any. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here.

As the name implies, this is within the city area in a historic building. They had a good selection of wines and we enjoyed the tastings and looking at the behind the scenes areas on our tour.

We intended going for one hour, but the atmosphere (vinyl music), great wines and the exceptional service we received from Robyn had us stay for 3.5 hours. We ended up eating too and the food was fantastic. Can’t wait to get home to the wines I preferred!

Definitely worth a visit, not just for the wines but for the beautiful building, fantastic staff and great local music they have to offer.
The setting and atmosphere are top notch and the staff are knowledgeable, helpful yet not intrusive.
We love going here for a quick drink or a lazy afternoon platter with friends.

We were visiting Napier for the weekend and happened to stumble into this place on Saturday afternoon. We loved the vibe and the decor. We stayed for a few drinks and returned later that night for their live music. We had a blast. The cheese platter was delicious and the service was the best we have had since travelling overseas. The guy looking after our table was amazing and friendly. As soon as we had only one sip left in our glass he would be at our table taking our next order.
We can’t wait to return to Napier so we can visit The Urban Winery again.

The old Rothmans factory is an Art Deco landmark so it was nice to see it converted into a wine bar. We stopped in for an early evening drink during covid level 2 and the place was nicely laid out with a reasonable number of people there. The wine and beer selection was excellent, and meatball bar snack was tasty. The wine was as so good in fact my wife bought two bottles of wine to take away. The staff were friendly and helpful. Worth a visit
