Frank was a fabulous host - we arrived in Napier the day before Christmas Eve and the local Tourist Info place booked us onto this tour for Christmas Eve
We didn’t expect much as we thought everyone would be keen for an early finish, but we were wrong.
What a great day - from the moment he picked us up, it was obvious that Frank enjoys what he does and wants to make the day special for all his guests, even though he must have done it hundreds of times.
We went to 4 excellent wineries and Frank gave us a commentary about the region, its history and culture and he clearly has a passion for the wine industry.
We’d made the mistake of not eating much before the trip and Frank treated us to chips when we got to the brewery at the end of the tour
Excellent value day out - we would highly recommend to anyone in the area

We loved our half day tour with Frank at Frankly Wine Tours! Everything was perfect. We had door-to-door pick up and drop off, a nice air conditioned, comfortable van, and a very nice, knowledgeable, and patient tour guide with the owner, Frank. He knows his wine and the Hawke’s Bay Area and shares lots of interesting details. The views of the wine country are lovely. We really enjoyed our day touring four wineries and a brewery! The wineries were all a little different with lots of nice size tastings at each location. I think Frank changes up the tour route on his magical, mystery bus! We started at the Mission Estate Winery, which is a beautiful, historic building. The six tastings there were excellent and we had a little time to walk around the grounds and check out the cellar. The Moana Park Winery was relaxed as we enjoyed our tastings outdoors with a nice bread board with olive oil and a crushed nut topping. Oak Estate had a delicious artisan food plate with delicious smoked chicken, pates, burnt butter, chutney and breads. We enjoyed watching the chickens and ducks wandering around too. The last winery we toured today was Trinity Hill and we actually bought the Syrah to take home to Hawaii (since we leave Napier tomorrow). I’d recommend taking the tour at the beginning of your trip to buy the wines you enjoy while you are visiting the area. Our last stop was Roosters Batch Brewed Beer, a cute little place where my hubby enjoyed the huge beer flight with the French fries (chips) while I appreciated having a Ginger Beer and a caffe latte at the brewery since I don’t drink beer. Although the half day doesn’t include a formal lunch, we loved all of the delicious treats along the way. The gluten free crackers and GF bread were an unexpected bonus that Frank made sure of once he learned I was gluten sensitive! We highly recommend Frankly Tours and hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

A group of 8 friends did the half-day tours so we had an exclusive experience and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Frank is fun and relaxed and took us to a great mix of new and old wineries and we got to meet some great characters along the way. He really looked after us well in terms of selecting the places he thought we'd enjoy as well as making sure we didn't go hungry (no chance of being thirsty!).
I would highly recommend this tour and we all felt it was great value for money.

Even though our booking was last-minute, everything worked out without any issues. Frank himself picked us up on time at our campsite and drove us to Mission - the first winery, where we had a delightful tasting with a very knowledgable sommelier. Between wineries, Frank had a lot to tell about the region, the history and the wines, which made the driving time much more enjoyable!
The visits at the three other wineries and the brewery made the day complete.

We would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND the wine tour with Frankly!

Thank you Frank for this wonderful and jolly day!

Frank was on time and read the group well. There were five of us in our group plus three more who joined. Frank was informative and had a wealth of personal experience in the Hawkes Bay wine industry which gave credibility to tour. He had the tour party warmed up and created a memorable fun end to the day with some appropriate music in the van on the way home including taking a couple of laps around one of the roundabouts.

My partner , son and I had a fantastic afternoon wine tour with Frank during a recent visit to Napier from Scotland.
We visited a very varied and interesting selection of 4 wineries with delicious wines and an amazing platter to share as well as a brewery visit on the way home !
Our tour was shared with Allan and Gail from OZ whose company made the whole experience even more enjoyable and fun . We sang songs from OZ and Scotland together all the way home !
It was also a great introduction to finer wines for our son and we would highly recommend Franks tours for a fabulous afternoon out.Frankly it’s the best !

We recently went on the Full Day tour. Frank our guide was amazing. His knowledge of Napier and history was informative and educational. He added the personal touch and went the extra mile to make our tour memorable, even recommending a couple of restaurants to try. The tour went to 4 wineries and a brewery and we were able to taste wines/beers that we would not of normally tasted. Really enjoyed the boutique wineries. Tour included all tasting fees and a food platter at Oak Estate.

Would highly recommend this tour and company - thank you Frank and Frankly Tours

We had a great time on Frankly tours. We were the only two on this tour which was great! Frank was great with communication re booking and contact.
Not only did he know about the wines he was also very knowledgeable about Hawkes Bay explaining things as we drove along.
He arranged a fabulous wine platter for us.
A cruise ship was in the day we went on tour and Frank took us to smaller wineries that the passengers on the cruise ships wouldn’t be at so that we wouldn’t have to queue up with. ( No offence to the cruise passengers!)
He then took us up to Te Mata Peak (which wasn’t in the itinerary) for fabulous view of the Hawkes bay explaining the lay out.
Frank is a really nice guy who goes out of his way to make sure you enjoy your day. Highly recommend.

Frankly this was great. Friendly down to earth and absolutely value for money. Roosters at the end is great too with brilliant beers. Frank is a hoot and you’re guaranteed to end the tour singing ‘ country road’🤣

Had a great afternoon with Frank. Wineries were top notch and definitely spoilt with our first 2 stops. Entertaining for the first and great platter on the second. All the wineries were great. The brewery was great and their BBQ sauce was a winner on the fries.
3 of the 4 of us have been on a wine tour in Napier before but this was by far the one I would recommend people to do
Frank had great knowledge and very entertaining.Loved the karaoke challenge on the way home
