It was superfood because it had a playground with water. beautiful gardens and shaded bush walkways. Lots of room for families to picnic.

Lovely park by the river
Feb 2020
We visited the Memorial park and carried on walking only to come across this delightful park. Lots of pathways and bridges and even a children's water park. Eventually we came to the Waikato River and walked for a while along the bank. Great place for a picnic.

A lovely peaceful retreat in the middle of Hamilton
Feb 2020
This place is a hidden gem...right in the middle of the city. On a hot day day with a picnic lunch this place is wonderful....we had a refreshing lunch there in the middle of a busy day, we picked up a sandwich from a local supermarket and enjoyed a budget lunch in a gorgeous setting with well cared for gardens. Well done Hamilton City Council.

Parana Park Hamilton
Dec 2019 • Family
This park is cared for by Hamilton City Council. The gardens are beautifully kept. Lots of shade for a picnic. And the highlight of the park for the young ones - the clean pools to play in. A real little gem in the city. Small bird aviary as well and a stunning balcony overlooking the Waikato River. A must see place.

Shady area with beautiful trees
Jun 2019
This is one of our favourite places to stroll. An older style park with formal gardens, a cute stone bridge and magnificent trees. Also a modern children's playground including a water play area. Head south along the river walk to Wellington Beach (stop for coffee at Hayes Common) or on to Hamilton Gardens.

Missing something
Jan 2019 • Family
I took my 9yo son for a day out and after walking around for sometime came across a park with very little to do and a Avery with not alot to see. Things seemed like they needed some TLC.

Lovely riverside park
Nov 2018 • Couples
The park has two sections. Lovely children's playpark to keep the younger ones engaged with lots of nice gardens and impressive trees. Section section contains the world war 1 and 2 memorials with even a replica Spitfire plane on display. Great location by the river and ideal for a walk in the sunshine.

We decided to give it a quick visit but ended staying there for 2 hours. Kids loved it, we had fun with all the historical facts. Beautifully maintained! Will be heading there often
