Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have been taking our boy here ever since he was a puppy and he just loves it. It’s the highlight of his day. It’s a well set out park with access to the river for the dogs to have a swim. Its a great chance to let your dog socialise with other breeds and different sized dogs. Highly recommend!

Great place to bring your dog to run around and mix with other breeds as well. The river is also accessible for dogs to swim on a hot day as well (just remember to bring them a towel to dry off!)

I must be one of the few people who do NOT use Days Park for walking my dog. I hate dealing with huge numbers of dogs who tear up to us and their owners who don't bother to try and retrieve them even when asked to do so. For anyone with a dog who goes completely 'deaf' when let loose, the fact there is a busy road at the top and the river at the bottom might put you off. The only time I use the park is when the Miniature Schnauzer Picnic is held each March. But we may not even attend this again. It used to be extremely popular but now consists of just a small number of dogs, a completely disorganised running race for them and that's about it. There are better parks for dogs eg Minogue Park and Raymond St Park.

It's actually a dogs park, a special assigned area as "dogs exercise area". It looks funny that we walk without a dog with us. All the people we meet has their dog or dogs with them.
We still enjoy our walk anyway. The park has parking area, toilet and BBQ facility.

Visited this park regularly for a few years until we moved away from Hamilton. Easy access to river. Parking available from two entries plus off the road. Dogs off lead. Fabulous space. Seats set under trees around the loop walk. Occasionally doggie bags available but don't rely on it. Take your own. Bins at each entrance and twice around walking loop. We miss this place.

Our dog loves the freedom and ability to run freely and safely. There's the Waikato River access that a lot of dogs enjoy, or you can just walk around the circuit and let your dog play with the other visitors. This park is well kept, with three bins available for doggie deposits. Sometimes there are plastic bags available at one of the entries ... sometimes none, so bring your own poo bags. If the main car park is full, you can always park down Arran St. Or on River Road, which would be my third choice, but so far, I've never needed to park there.

Great place to take the dogs to have a walk, swim and socialise with the other dogs off the lead. Gravel pathways and heaps of grass so play on

We visit here every weekend and our little baby/dog loves it. It's a really nice park that borders the river so it's great for the dogs to swim and paddle. It's really nice with the rolling contours and big trees too. Overall a great park with the added bonus that it's a dog park :)

I have 2 Labrador dogs and have been walking them at Day's Park most days for the last 6 years. What an absolutely outstanding asset this place is for the city. As a designated dog park dogs and owners alike are free to roam, run and swim in their own part of the world, enjoying the experience. Having the space for dogs of all shapes and sizes is so awesome. Small or elderly dogs can exercise at their own pace while the more youthful and energetic can swim / chase the ball and tear around like mad things if they wish.
I would suggest that if you don't like dogs or have no experience with dogs then don't come here, it probably won't go well for you.

Hi, is it easy to find, as in signposted?
Written 18 October 2017
No, to be honest, it's not.
However, if you travel along River Road, it's on the river side of the road between Arran Road and Perindale Drive. You can access the park from the end of Arran Road (off River Road) - just park on the side of the road (away from driveways) and walk to the end of the cul de sac.
If you continue a little further along River Road there is a small car park on the left just before Perindale Drive. This is the best entrance, especially if you want to go down to the river.
You can also access the park directly off River Road, but you would have to park on the side of a fairly busy road and this access is directly onto the grass, whereas the other entrances have tracks.
