Balloons in the park
Mar 2019 • Couples
This annual event at the University ground is a must for families living in the Waikato. Ample parking and well organised, we camped out on the grass as a family and enjoyed the balloons.

Night Glo a Must Go!
Feb 2018 • Couples
The Night Glo at the grounds of the Waikato University is a must see event. In conjunction with Balloons over Waikato this annual event is well worth taking the family along to. Huge crowds though and it pays to secure some elevated position earlier in the afternoon before the crowd builds up. Great musical event and sideshows, food stalls etc.. The pyrotechnic display is about the best you'll see in the Waikato. Quite stupendous!

What an anmazing place and event
Mar 2018 • Family
This is a no-brainer and a must-see-attraction, every mid-March there is the Ballon-over-Waikato event on the area of Uni of Waikato. It is superb and very special!

They 'glow' the balloons, accompanied by cool music. Isn't super long, like 20 minutes or even a bit shorter but it is worth the wait. The area is BIG, and although a lot of people are coming it is not getting overcrowded.

A lot of parking is provided, so no need to freak out!

Lovely campus
Feb 2018 • Business
The campus is quite lovely with beautifully landscaped lakes buttressed against cafes and restaurants for students, staff, and visitors. Buildings are a mix of old and new with quite a modern/contemporary library. Some older buildings have been given a facelift with additions that make the exteriors far more interesting. Case in point, the Computing and Maths building.

Overall one of the nicer campuses I have been to across the globe.
