A lot of animals to see however most of them are not of a closer range. Perhaps due to safety reasons. A section was closed, too bad this area will let you see the giraffes a bit closer. A fun activity for the kids.

The Hamilton Zoo is a great way to spend some relaxing hours. A great array of animals, my favourites being the Sumatran Tigers, the White Rhinos and the huge elevated walk through bird aviary. A "must do" when visiting Hamilton.

I took a number of people with disabilities and we had an awesome day seeing animals from all around the world up close. Even having to push people in wheelchairs wasn't to hard. The staff were cheerful and helpful.

Hamilton Zoo is set in a beautiful park-like environment. New Zealand native species are there to view. The Zoo is also heavily involved in conservation at a local and international level, The breading White Rhinos are truly magnificent.

Totally agree with all those comments. Twoish hours. Mind you twenty minutes with a kaka parrot on your shoulder sniffing your perfume on your neck, under your chin and down your shirt front just can't be missed. It also... More
