I was somewhat surprised at the small size of many of the cages and animal compounds, in view of the large, open spaces surrounding Hamilton, but there is no mistaking the good intent and warmth of the staff towards the animals. The team at the...More

We drove there, plenty of parking available. We went here on a wet day - but it did brighten up as the girl at the front desk said it would!! A lovely welcoming smile from the girl at the ticket counter. There is a lot...More

I enjoyed this zoo, not too big and not too small. Had a lot of fun looking at all of the different animals. I loved the monkeys.

Visited with family and grandson. The ring tailed lemur feeding was a real highlight for our grandson - he loved every minute of helping the keeper to feed the lemurs. There is also a great and varied selection of other animals, all kept in a...More

Been to many Zoos - and this one does not disappoint especially being so close to places like The Base. Also met a Pig that was on his daily walk around the Zoo, he earned the 5th star

Beautiful environment.Trees and gardens create shade and a feeling of being in the bush.Enclosures have been carefully thought about for the animals whilst allowing for great viewing and a visit that leaves you feeling educated and much better about zoos in general.Good job Hamilton.

My son loves it. Although he pointed at the kunekune pugs and said "dad" so that wasn't ideal. Best time to go is first thing in the morning. All the animals are out and about.

My daughter and I spent about 2 hours here, which was plenty of time. It's a nicely laid out zoo, and the animal areas are for the most part large and well-maintained. We enjoyed the monkeys and chimps, and the African safari was very interesting...More
