The best small scale Zoo that have visited. Shame the Cheetah had passed on, the Kiddies would have enjoyed also. The only animal that would complete the line up "Elephant" but suspect very costly (enclosure, etc). Auckland, Melbourne, Weribee Open Range & Singapore Zoo's are...More

Wonderful Zoo set in the hills of Hamilton with a great variety of animals. Our main aim was to see the Sumatran Tigers and we weren't disappointed. We saw three in all strolling around. Wonderful walk through avairy. Savanna lands from the white Rhino to...More

Set in a picturesque area this zoo far exceeds others we’ve been to. The quick drive from Auckland to Hamilton was worth it. Take a picnic or purchase from the cafe (quite pricey). Clean toilet facilities. The lady who we bought our tickets from was...More

Hamilton zoo is a wonderful place to spend 3 hours walking around viewing the large variety of animals housed there. Also a very good cafe is attached. The rhinos are wonderful as are the giraffes. I would highly recommend the zoo. Easy parking

A well set out zoo with many animals to see. I'd recommend not going when it's too hot as many animals were resting in the shade and not necessarily exciting to view eg the tigers were asleep. No fault of the zoo though and we...More

Would highly recommend the Hamilton zoo. We went with school age children in slight drizzle and periods of rain. Due to the wonderful trees and vegetation we did not get wet. The volunteers were informative and the animals lovely. Would highly recommend with a picnic.

I just didn't find it that great. We went to see the Zebras who were so far away it was pretty disappointing for my 4yo. The rhinos are cool. It's a small place and charges as much as a bigger place.
