A easy stroll around with many interesting things to look at. Great for young and old. There is a choice of short or long walks .

Beautiful spot on a hot day

So tranquil and easy walking. Shaded picnic spots. We had little ones with bikes and the tracks were not too onerous. Greta strands of trees for hide and seek. Lots of ducks, hens and roosters.

Such a wonderful initiative and vision

Lovely place

Really enjoyed our walk here but a little far for the pre-schoolers. I did feel more signage was needed as we were first timers and it was a little confusing. Lots of tracks with no idea where they went. !
Definitely would go again though

Great place to walk my dog
Jun 2019
Had the girls (2 pitbulls) and Dad with me. Was a nice area to walk, view various artsy things and nature. Can be as easy a walk or as hard a hike as you like. Have been back since and still find things to marvel at

Peaceful and dog friendly

On a very windy the Aboretum walk was well protected from wind and sun and much enjoyed by my leashed dog and I. I was lovely to meander amongst the gardens. It is well sign posted and a reasonably easy walk. Loved seeing a pair of free roaming rabbits, along with many chooks.

We werent sure what to expect but happy to find a well organised and cared for mixed forest. Chickens everywhere. A lot of visitors even mid week so must be a popular nature spot for tourists and visitors alike.

Love this place
Nov 2019 • Family
It's always a pleasure to visit the Arboretum and see how it changes through the seasons.
I was pleased to see the signage regarding the chickens this weekend (I visited both Saturday and Sunday) ... perhaps updated signs to advise against feeding ducks bread could be a good idea. Bread makes ducks sick afterall!
The scenery is always beautiful as you meander through the Arboretum.
Plenty of hens and roosters are also happy to see you - especially if you have some food for them.
The metal track is well cared for, making it easy for parents with strollers and I'd guess wheelchairs also (with suitable tyres).

We went for a walk on a beautiful Sunday morning, have always meant to go but never got around to it, (even having lived in Hamilton most of my life) truly an awesome walk with rosters, chickens, ducks roaming around not getting in your way, I will definitely go back its just stunning.
