Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Hamilton Lake Domain is a park on the lake shore near the heart of Hamilton. We took a morning walk, it was very pleasant. You can also get a good cup of coffee from the Vetandah cafe.. The Hamilton Lake Domain makes for an enjoyable facility for the people of Hamilton, who appear to be a bit blase about it. Hamilton is a prosperous medium-sized city in the middle of New Zealand's North Island.

WE were staying in Hamilton to visit a friend in hospital. Each day we went for a walk and the Lake Domain was such a nice alternative to Hamilton Gardens where we usually go. It is a large area and the lake makes it quite peaceful. WE enjoyed a few walks around the Domain and a picnic lunch one day. Lots of people out biking and walking their dags so it's nice and safe too.

The lake domain and play area is a real asset for Hamilton. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The play area is wonderful for children and well utilised. My kids really enjoyed the waterways. There is lots of shade areas and seating for supervising adults. There is a cafe; a bit on the expensive side. Overpriced icecreams (or undersized for the price) / drinks kiosk.

We stayed in Hamilton, so we decided to take a stroll around the lake. Hamilton Lake Domain is in the heart of the city, it is used for a number of water sports. We went for along walk, it was very enjoyable. You can get a good coffee at the veranda; there's a playground nearby. It's also good for a walk or bicycle ride.

A lovely place to wander around, there are different areas around the lake including playgrounds, a café and picnic areas etc. It is a great place to run, jog or walk around the whole lake as the path is flat. There is plenty of parking at various locations around the lake.

We had an hour or so to kill so decided to visit Hamilton Domain. The first thing is access. There appears to be one way in and one way out. Apart from that, the views are pleasant. Although sunny, it was a very windy and cold day - probably best to avoid when there is a howling southerly blowing. I am sure on a nice calm day it would be lovely.
There is a walk that runs along the northern shore, almost parallel to the road. Various amenity trees lends character.

We went down to the Lake for a bit of escapism from Waikato Hospital. It was close, easy to find and access was easy. With a mixture of playground, public toilets, picnic benches and tables and the café onsite there is something for everybody. Peaceful place to clear your head, get some fresh air and unwind. Seemed very popular with both locals and out of towners. Plenty of public parking.

I had the pleasure of running around the lake one afternoon. I loved the board walk and the playground, it was very well presented.
The only negative was that I only found one drinking fountain as I was running around the park, besides that, perfect.

Hamilton Lake Domain is a fantastic park area in the city. It's brilliant for keeping fit, as you can easily run or walk around it, either on your own or as part of the Saturday morning park run initiative. Alternatively, just have a leisurely walk, enjoy the gardens and have a rest under the trees. There's plenty of parking, toilets and cafes (one inside and another outside the domain boundary).

It's a nice walk around a stagnant lake. There is new exercise equipment by the yacht club and the children's playground is good fun for kids. Good for locals, I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.

Hi, i want to visit Hamilton Lake soon. I am just wondering.. can i use my drone here.? Any guidelines or restriction? Thank you..
Written 16 July 2017
It's my understanding that using drones needs permission due to other possible air traffic but as others have stated, ask Hamilton Council.
