New Zealand is a land of lakes, there's stunning lakes everywhere. Going by that standard the Hamilton Lake isn't anything special but it is a worth seeing lake that is totally within a town. I was pleasantly surprised at its landscaped beauty surrounded by cityscapes....More

This place is beautiful. We walked alongside the lake and there was so much to see. The children's playground is incredible.

The walk around the lake is picturesque but it is also a gathering point for so many people with the adjacent parks and playgrounds. Take a picnic and then walk it off.

You can walk round this lake in a good 45 minutes. It is quite pleasant and flat, so everyone can access this. There is a very large and varied kids' playground at one point on the lake, so it's good for the kids, too.

Great place to go for a walk/run. Nice path which goes the whole way around the lake. Loads of flies if you go at night!

To give my wife a day off I looked after the kids for the weekend. The Lake playground was the choice of kids - ducks fed, coffee for Dad and after a few hours of playing, ice cream for all

This lake is great for walking or jogging. went with family and dog in the evening. Lots of photo opportunities. About 4km around, but even 7 year old granddaughter managed it without grumbling. Would recommend

We passed by this lake and stopped for a morning tea stop. The bird life was in abundance and the lake on a warm sunny morning looked picturesque. A pleasant place for a stroll. Playground and toilet facilities were available. Parking was good.

It's my understanding that using drones needs permission due to other possible air traffic but as others have stated, ask Hamilton Council.
