Amazing to see what the whole valley once looked like. Make your own call as to whether this stunning forest remnant is preferable to fields of Sweetcorn, Squash and Grapes. Does make one wonder about the magnitude of the change though, and the hardiness of...More

A hidden treasure only minutes out of Gisborne. Make sure you put valuables out of sight, broken car windows are a pain to replace. Possibly better to leave you car unlocked and empty of interesting stuff ( dirty laundry should act as a deterrent) The...More

Really easy and flat walk for kids. All native trees and cool on a hot day. Only a 10 min drive out of town.

This is a nice walk, only took us about an hour we tried to get lost but its a pretty simple walk thru, very cold & take a water bottle. Very peaceful. Lots of signage and information along the way.

Serene, very quiet beautiful and easy bush walk through what this area used to look like. Either a short 10 min loop or the longer walk both are recommended to just get away from it all

Small scenic forest reserve, free to visit, good for gentle walking, cool on a hot day. Beautiful tree ferns and other trees and plants. Free parking nearby. Not staffed. Very peaceful.
