A very nice patch of bushland to walk through, not far from the city. If you want to experience the native bush of NZ without going too far into the wilderness, then this is the place for you.

This little reserve is very small (by Aussie standards), but lovely and peaceful to visit. Shady, green and photogenic, it's a nice escape from town.

Really easy and flat walk for kids. All native trees and cool on a hot day. Only a 10 min drive out of town.

This is a nice walk, only took us about an hour we tried to get lost but its a pretty simple walk thru, very cold & take a water bottle. Very peaceful. Lots of signage and information along the way.

Cycling around Gisborne last weekend we had lunch and then cycled to Gray's Bush Scenic Reserve. This is an absolutely beautiful place full of Kahikatea. Close to the road, but also very cloistered so the further you walk in the more you think you are...More
