Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our tour guide, Raewyn, was very pleasant and friendly. Her vehicle was new and clean. Her knowledge of the area was excellent. I loooved her accent. She made us feel like family. We booked the 3 1/2 hour Auckland Experience
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TUI TOURS. It was affordable and available at moments notice. It felt like a private tour, as her vehicle only holds 6 passengers .
Thank you for the experience.

Although this was marketed on viator as a private tour, we had another couple join us which was fine as we were very compatible (Tui tours on their website markets their tours as “small group”). The tour itself was great, especially the zodiac boat ride around the bay, zipping in/out of the craggy inlets and around Cathedral Cove. Second best was Mt Paku, riding up most of the way, walking up the rest to the tippy-top for a fantastic view. The thermals weren’t much at the time of the day we were there, but I wasn’t interested in them anyway (and made that known beforehand). We chose not to do the cathedral cove walk due to a back injury, and the alternative walk was pleasant, but not much additional scenery than from the top (so my preference would have been to do the cove walk if I were able). We saw quite a bit of one side of Cathedral cove from the zodiac boat ride (which we did before the walk option), and to do the walk all the way thru the cove/cave at the time we were there would have meant a swimsuit (i.e. no dry walk but probably not very deep). Lorraine and her husband /driver were very friendly, told us a lot of history throughout, especially during the drive. The chosen lunch place was fantastic, absolutely the best food I had in NZ during the entire trip. Snacks provided throughout the day were plenty. Yes, I would definitely recommend this tour.

I recently took a tour with Tui Tours to Waitomo and Hobbiton.
Waitomo Caves was an ethereal experience, and the facts we learned about the glowworms were fascinating.
Being a serious Lord of the Rings fan, I had been looking forward to visiting Hobbiton. I was not disappointed! What a fantastic tour!!
Dave our driver was friendly and knowledgeable and the van was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend Tui Tours!!!

Dave took us yesterday on our first contact with New Zealand. What a beautiful contry and what a sweet, informed, nice guide. We fell in love with both. Serious company: they didnt fail to pick us a airport to start tour from there. Dave drove smoothly and kept on informing us about our suroundings. Never loud. Never intrusive. Perfect. Clean, spacious new vehicle. Wonderful lunch. And without words about the incredible sights. Thanks Tui Tours. But specially thanks Dave.

We used Tui and they were excellent. We had a private tour with Raewyn and she gave us a great time. All the places we visited were very interesting and Raewyn's commentary was always interesting and helpful (well apart from saying John Logan Campbell was English...he is of course Scottish :-) ).
What made it better was the fact that Raewyn is an Auckland 'local' so she knows so much and is also able to give insights into staying in Auckland as her home.
Thanks very much Raewyn!

We were originally booked for Waitomo and Hobbiton months ago with Gray Line , but because of a computer glitch, GoGo Tours didn't firm up our booking .. Thanks to the effort of the Auckland tourist bureau (Rick) who booked us with Tui ,we were not disappointed and were able to enjoy a private tour with Tui .. Raewen was an excellent guide and so accommodating. She even pulled over so that we could enjoy an ice cream cone. Her vehicle was very clean and comfortable. She is also very knowledgeable about many aspects of the country.
I would certainly recommend to anyone.

We had our day tour to Waitomo caves and Kiwi house. Unfortunately, we cannot see any kiwi (only two kiwis are in the house), but caves compensated it. Amazing experience! And Raewyn was very nice host!

Our guide was Raewyn and her brother. They picked us up at our hotel in Takapuna for a lovely day adventure down to Waitomo Caves and the Otorohanga Kiwi House. We rode in a four seater vehicle (including driver) to provide the cozy private tour experience. Our guides, being 5th generation New Zealanders, were able to answer all of the questions we had about Auckland and New Zealand in general. We had a wonderful time talking to and from our locations. Our first stop was the beautiful Glow worm caves. They purchased our tickets before sending us on our way. Let me tell you, this was an incredible experience! Picture the night sky filled with small blue stars which also reflects in the Waitomo river which runs through the caves. Absolutely stunning! A must see in my opinion! Following our journey through the darkness we stepped out into the light. After some retail therapy we backtracked just a short while before stopping at the Big Apple for lunch (I highly recommend the lamb burger! This is about the most delicious burger I have ever had the pleasure of eating! Wow!). Lunch was leisurely and super delicious before we hit the road once more to go to the Kiwi house. This was another part of this tour that really drew my friend and I to the tour as Kiwis are the bird of New Zealand. As planned by the tour we arrived in time for the Kiwi feeding which was absolutely fascinating! Our lovely guides then walked us around the remainder of the park (even fetching umbrellas for us as it was raining when we arrived) and pointed out the native birds as we went (particularly in the aviary!). After the Kiwi house it was time to return to our Takapuna accommodation. We had such a lovely day! Tui Tours really provide a fantastic and leisurely experience. I would happily travel with them again in the future!
