About
An Aucklander’s favourite. Serving an enviable list of locally sourced beverages coupled with warm, friendly service and a touch of kiwi retro. The large bar provides a handsome centrepiece for our intimate watering hole. A temple to local craft beers, you can swill or sip on some of the finest from New Zealands leading craft brewers, with our rotating tap beers. Our mainly local wine list offers a selection by the glass and more options by the bottle. The perfect meeting place for an intimate gathering, quick bite to eat or a drink with colleagues and friends after a hard days work. Open Monday – Saturday 12.30pm till late. No bookings required.

Wonderful little watering hole, with a sophisticated drinks range and brilliant staff. We also had the bruschetta which was absolutely delicious, great prices too for high quality food and drinks!

Popped in for a couple of drinks as we were staying close by. Very pleasantly surprised by the NZ Vintage posters on the walls. How wonderful!!

This is a charming little bar right in the heart Auckland. When we visited there were three interesting craft beers on tap and we were allowed to try them all before choosing. No, it's not cheap but we were never hassled and had a lovely time people watching.

We were looked after by a charming Italian barman who also doubled as the pizza chef. The pizza Margherita we shared was exceptional. It was the thinnest, crispiest, tastiest we have ever enjoyed.

Average pub selling overpriced beer. Ok look I know this is a major city but $9 for a glass of beer? Not a pint just a glass.
Drank every drop then left.

It was raining so this bar was a great find and we spent the late afternoon trying a fine selection of very nice NZ beers. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the bar had a nice atmosphere and mix of people. Decent prices and a great loo!

I enjoyed a relaxing gin and soda here. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Prices are reasonable and there is a wide selection of beers (a wide range of craft beers) wines and spirits.

This is the first time that I try at the Corner Bar even thought I have passed through this several times. To all guys who want to try new things, This is the place. They serve only New Zealand beer and it taste like heaven on Earth. It is so cool and refreshing on the summer dates of Auckland. It is a corner bar so there are a lot of chit chat from locals, next to the fashionable High Street and enjoy the cool breeze. Nothing is better than this. You can see Barkers - one of new zealand owned tailor shop across the street.

The environment of the bar is chilled and old-fashioned interior design as I believe due to its adjacent Hotel DeBrett which is the number one rated hotel in Trip Advisor. I never actualy went inside so there are no comments on that as I am a little bit shy. Why not try things slowly at personal rate.

I don't know how to describe my feeling. The place is full with people passing by on foot and on car iin the narrow full parked High Street ( a great place to get your fashion upgraded). The sunlight reflect from the roof of the car on to the ceiling the bar, brighten the space a lot, makes it more a fun place to stay and more for man.

My recommendation is try the New Zealand lager as it is what I drink and you will be amazed.

A simple recipe, well executed. Yes this place has faults - toilets are cramp, food menu is limited with no fries. But you can't go past good beer and service in friendly small space. Outside or inside the atmosphere is relaxed and not too loud. Live jazz on the pavement is a nice touch, and the waft of cigars flowing in is not offensive but a reminder of older times. A few too many corporate lawyers and fund managers lurk around, but are harmless.

Hard to beat for an after work drink in the city.

Good selection of craft beers and NZ wines by the glass.

Live music the night we went was very civil. A duo sitting on footpath near the main entrance - not too loud. Windows overlooking footpath make for a nice setting.
