Join us on our guided walk through the streets of Auckland's central hub, introducing you to all the best bits of our seaside metropolis. The walk leaves from the Queens Wharf Village (89 Quay Street) —Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 10am. The entire walk will take between 2.5 and 3 hours, and we’ll be walking rain or shine. Bookings aren’t necessary, just come on down and look out for your friendly guide who will be holding a bright blue Auckland Free Walking Tours umbrella. From Auckland’s rich history right through to the brand new developments of our fair city, your AFWT guide will walk and talk you through the changing ages of New Zealand’s largest metropolis. Taking off from Auckland’s downtown, the walk heads up through Britomart Transport Centre, taking you through the city’s pedestrian laneways and right up to the recently renovated Auckland Art Gallery. You’ll then wander through the historic Albert Park and University of Auckland, before heading back down to Auckland’s famous viaduct precinct and across Te Wero Bridge, concluding among the hustle and bustle of the always-interesting Silo Park.

Our guide was Alex who did a great job when chatting to individuals when walking and with the whole group (20 people). She was informative and entertaining and we really enjoyed our walk despite the rain.

Really interesting tour with bubbly and vivacious guide Olivia. A lot of interesting information about historical sites in Auckland downtown area. This tour is not just for visitors but for us Aucklanders who don't know our city.

Olivia is a young, full-of-life, knowledgeable guide. Multi-cultural and feminist cheerleader, and all with a smile and positive attitude. We learned a lot about Auckland and NZ as a whole.
