Join us on our guided walk through the streets of Auckland's central hub, introducing you to all the best bits of our seaside metropolis. The walk leaves from the Queens Wharf Village (89 Quay Street) —Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 10am. The entire walk will take between 2.5 and 3 hours, and we’ll be walking rain or shine. Bookings aren’t necessary, just come on down and look out for your friendly guide who will be holding a bright blue Auckland Free Walking Tours umbrella. From Auckland’s rich history right through to the brand new developments of our fair city, your AFWT guide will walk and talk you through the changing ages of New Zealand’s largest metropolis. Taking off from Auckland’s downtown, the walk heads up through Britomart Transport Centre, taking you through the city’s pedestrian laneways and right up to the recently renovated Auckland Art Gallery. You’ll then wander through the historic Albert Park and University of Auckland, before heading back down to Auckland’s famous viaduct precinct and across Te Wero Bridge, concluding among the hustle and bustle of the always-interesting Silo Park.

Walk an easy 2-21/2 hour tour with local volunteer guides. We had Louise, who was lovely, very friendly and passionate about her country and it’s history. Easy walk, through historic points and lovely parks. Recommended to get your bearings on first arriving

Went on this tour on Saturday and had tour guide Olivia. She was great, the tour lasted around 3 hours and was very informative. Afterwards she also helped us find which bus to take to mount Eden. It is definitely worth going on. Thank you!

Louise was incredibly knowledgeable and a great guide for our group. She knew about the little details and nuances about the individual stops and didn't hesitate to talk about the sensitive social topics.

Great walking tour of Auckland with very knowledgeable guide. Alex certainly knows the city and her enthusiasm was very apparent. Fascinating to see and understand what's behind (and above) the street level, and some of the history of the city.
