Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did this while on our trip to New Zealand and it was the highlight of our trip. Absolutely loved it! It was nice to see all the natural sights close to Auckland.

Wonderful tour with an incredibly knowledgeable and energetic guide. Piha Beach was breathtaking in particular but the whole tour was just wonderful, plus we had plenty time to tour on our own. Very easygoing yet informative.

I highly recommend this tour to anyone that love the outdoor and taking pictures. It was the highlight of my time in Auckland. Brett the tour operator is a great mate and very knowledgeable. He will accommodate the tour to your ability. Everyone in my tour was fit so we walked about 5-6 miles over the course of the day and saw amazing beaches and scenery. Get the meat pie for lunch which is included with the tour. Have a great vacation and thanks again Brett, PS he will send you some great pictures after the tour.

We selected this tour based on positive Trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. Brett was a great tour guide! During our visit to Piha Beach it down poured and we got soaked (Brett said take your umbrella, we should have listened). Despite getting soaked, it was a great, memorable experience which says so much! The Karekare falls are stunning. This trip gets you out of the city to see such beautiful sights, I would book it again in a heartbeat.

This was one of the best tours we ever did. Brett is an awesome guide and took us to excellent viewing points. The fact that we had gorgeous weather made the scenery even more dramatic! Loved every minute of it 👍👍👍

A few initial comments - first, if you're not into doing a bit of walking, this is not the tour for you, Brett has some unique and highly photogenic locations but like all good things they need a little effort.
Second, you're not just along for the photography, this is a chance to enjoy a side of New Zealand few tourists will see. "Thermos tea and a bikkie" by the roadside, a gourmet pie and drink in a tiny sea side town time has forgotten, along with recollections of New Zealand life that can only come from someone who loves his home and it's history.
Third, you have pro photographer who will suggest how to set up shots if you wish, or just guide you to pots whre you can compose your own, and even share some of his as part of the tour.
Oh, and my photos? Some of my best for the year - a few definitely will get into my 'best of 2020' photo calendar.

Brett was awesome. Highlight of our New Zealand trip. Beautiful scenery and adventure. Brett was able to engage our 9 year old son by adding extra climbing along the coast by Piha Beach.

This tour was fantastic! We wanted to get out of the city and see nature and Brett was the perfect guide to do this! He gave photography tips, showed us beautiful and diverse scenery plus he had loads of valuable information that helped us for the rest of our trip! We absolutely loved this tour. Brett is fun, knowledgeable and professional. He also took some photos of us which we will be using for our Christmas card! Couldn't be happier with this tour!

Professional Photographer and Tour Guide Brett Rees will take you on a stunning visual tour of the beautiful west coast beaches and waterfalls outside Auckland, and treat you to some wonderful and authentic Kiwi hospitality. Brett is a long time resident of the areas he tours and shares the hidden waterfalls, blow holes, ocean bluff trails and overlooks that few visitors (or Aucklanders) venture to see. Besides showing you where the best photo taking spots are, he takes professional photos of you posed in front of georgous coastal landscapes/waterfalls, and emails them to you after the tour! Lunch in Piha is delicious, and he serves you afternoon tea with biscuits after a short hike to a breathtaking scenic viewpoint. I've done lots of touring of the South and North Islands and visiting the Wild West Coast with Unique Vision Tours is one of the best days I've spent in New Zealand.
