About Aotea Roadies - Day Tours
Aotea Roadies is a small locally owned Auckland based tour operator specialising in small group (2-10), flexible half day to multi-day tours (we call them Roadies). Most of our road trips are to well known highlights and our favourite local secrets within 3 hours of Auckland city, however adventures further afield are also not a problem. Our experiences are an unforgettable blend of lush native forests, stunning coastlines, cultural experiences, gastronomic delights and always loads of kiwi hospitality. Our favourites include a Maori traditional medicines guided tour in the Hunua Ranges, then through rolling green countryside returning via the beautiful golden east coast beaches. In contrast the Wild West coast black sand beaches and the Waitakere Ranges or an action packed day (or sleepover) on the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula are also not to be missed. We pick up and drop off from your accommodation pretty much anywhere in the Auckland region.

Dear Zana, Your very personalized guided tour to the west coast out of Aukland was one of our fondest memories of New Zealand. We saw more in one day than I imagined we could. The black sand beaches, the gannet roosting site, the almost Jurassic forest, and the regional park were spectacular. Since we only had a day at that cruise stop, we're glad we took your tour rather than tour another big city like most of the others in our group did.We especially enjoyed getting to know you and hearing from a resident what life is like there. We would happily refer friends and family to call you if they are coming to Aukland. Thank you, Mark and Leslie USA

Between the end of our Viking Cruise and our night flight back to Oregon, Zana filled our day with a gracious and enriching tour of the West Coast Forests and Shoreline. We appreciated her friendly warmth, knowledge of flora and wildlife, history, and the local hip cultural perspectives. This was our first time in New Zealand and we plan to come back and take the multi day tour. I wanted to swim in the Tasmanian Sea and she found the perfect spot. Zana picked us up at the dock and dropped us at the airport which we also quite appreciated.

Zana was the most gracious and amiable guide to our outing on the Coromandel. From start to finish, she saw to our comfort and sought to give us the best, personalized experience. The excursion is a full day--be prepared with good walking shoes, sunscreen and a hat, plus bathing suits and towels. Cathedral Cove requires uphill/downhill walking, but there are few sights on the planet more beautiful, so the trek is worth it. With Zana's good company and insights into the areas, we had the best time and enthusiastically recommend Aotea Roadies for any tour. You won't be disappointed. Bravo to Zana for showing us a slice of paradise in true Kiwi style.

Our family of four adults had a great day with Zana touring the wild West Coast. She is a wonderful person who is a pleasure to travel with. The vehicle was really nice and was clean, comfortable and large enough to easily hold us and all of our luggage. The weather wasn't great and we were suffering from jet lag but that didn't dampen the experience. Thanks to Zana's flexibility and recommendations, we were able to tweak the plans and have a very memorable experience. With the poor conditions the crowds were down and we were able to visit the Gannet Colony virtually alone, which was really incredible (as were the homemade cookies!). I would highly recommend Aotea Roadies.

Our flight got cancelled and we could not get to the pickup spot on time. They adjusted and picked us up at a different location. We had less time available, but we managed to fit in all of the most important things we wanted to see. Great tea and cookies. Went above and beyond to assist with my Mother (not a steady walker). Very knowledgable.
