Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Took a couple of business associates to blastacars to chill out on a "free night" during a recent trip to Auckland. We didn't want to leave, with the drifting carts adding another cool aspect to cart racing. Great fun and no probs for bigger folks, I'm 6,3 and 140kg and not only got in the cart but kicked butt as machines have plenty of grunt. Will definitely be back.

A family of four, two parents and two children, for half an hour racing... $250 NZ. If I had realized this then we would have only been on the track for 15 minutes for half the price!

For most local families this cost is prohibitive. It was a lot of fun, but the course is quite short and with the addition of three others who drove in off the street at the same time, meant bottle necks, and restricted driving due to the narrow lane widths.

This is best suited to a single family/ group and for a special occasion in my opinion.

The staff were absolutely lovely, can’t rate them high enough.

I found this business through Trip Advisor when trying to find something different to do to entertain my 14 year old niece. I appreciated the reviews below.
The Blastacars website gives quite a bit of information but I had several concerns
1) would share the track with other faster more experienced drivers for who we would both be a nuisance and we could feel intimidated.
2) is there recommended clothing
3) Is there an age restriction ( the height is mentioned )
I called the Auckland venue and left a message and got a call back from a helpful bubbly staff member who booked us in and explained we shouldnt wear loose clothing and that we needed to wear closed in shoes.
There is parking onsite and it is easy to find .
I would suggest no white T shirts or tank tops, they offered us both fluro vests to protect our shirts which was good.
The slot machines are expensive but the free Foozeball and table tennis are good and appreciated if you need to wait for your session.
My niece had a wee moment as she put on the helmet and found it very closed in , but we were able to have the visor up , but still covering her eyes and she felt more settled.
There is a resonable informative pre run train session where you are told on video the basics, stop start , track protocol and safety and then you are tested using a model to show how to reverse.
We were the only 2 drivers on the track in our first session which made is super fun and we felt quite safe .we had so much fun that we continued with a second session joining a family of 4 . They seriously slowed us down and were quite frustrating to have ( as we would have been to more competent drivers). All 4 of them run into the back of us at speed when we finished the race and were waiting for them in the pits giving us a serous jolting. So as the rules say stay in the kart, keep all limbs in as well until the attendant signals to you to unbelt and unstrap.
We had a great time and will go back while this is on the expensive side if you had a group of friends going too it would be even more fun.
There is a viewing deck and is quite well set up for large groups . There is a computerised self checkin and your fastest time is displayed back upstairs after your session along with toilets
The snacks are limited and the venue is quite worn but I found the admin and trackside staff helpful ( took a photo of us in the karts and then held onto my phone while i raced).

Came here with 4 mates with plenty of experience karting in Auckland. Blastacars stands out due to the unique drifting nature of the karts and the track, feels like it emphasizes fun instead of just trying to follow the rules and set a fast time. Really enjoyed the experience, the karts are pretty quick and the staff were helpful! Would recommend for anyone!

My niece (13) and nephew (14) had the best time at this place. It’s very safe and the monitoring is great. It’s calm and I expected the smell of gasoline to be overwhelming but it was okay!
The owner customized our carts in our second lap and gave us tips a tricks. HIGHLY recommend this place if you’re visiting Auckland, with or without kids it’s fun.

Great time had by all!

Only complaint was the computer system not showing the correct lap times and other stats.

We visited after booking through bookme which made the price quite reasonable, at around $80 for two people for 30 mins.

Drift carting was far different to normal go karting, and was great fun.

The lady running the karts was very friendly, and even took some photos of us going around the track!

Went here last night for the first time with a mate. We booked in advance and managed to get the track with just us and 2 others which was perfect. If you’re going for the first time def do at least 2x 15min sessions as the first round is where you’ll figure out the handling and track. All the staff are super friendly and organised and place is really well kept.

Will definitely be going back.
