Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We walked past the Town Hall and found the doors open. They were holding an event for Auckland Philharmonia. We were invited in and were offered last minute tickets. The venue was just beautiful, especially the acoustics! But even better was the orchestra. If you are in Auckland when the Philharmonia is playing, you most give it a try. It was a highlight of our trip.

We came here to attend a concert and absolutely love the architecture of this building. It has such a grand feel to it with a rich historical aura. The clock tower above is impressive. Closed by to all the nearby inner city attractions. Highly recommended for a visit.

Located on queen street, built in the early 1900's, is this architecturally beautiful building, that adds to the beauty of the city.

This is one of few historic buildings on Queens Street and was opened in 1911. It sits on a wedge piece of land uo the hill. Apparently it has a large organ, the largest musical instrumebnt in New Zealand.

As an Aucklander I’m really proud of the town hall. Last night I got to hear a concert which included the organ and it is a most magnificent thing. The acoustics in the Town Hall are absolutely amazing and therefore concerts are wonderful. The restoration several years ago have brought this beauty back to its best.

There are many venues within the Town Hall and it is worth just going to visit it and see the grandness.

The Auckland Symphony Orchestra put on a free show for our visit. The 3 hours of 'Film Favourites' Family concert music was delightful. We are not normally classic or orchestra music people but this was surprisingly enjoyable. It was also a pleasure to see inside the wonderful old restored Town Hall again. Paul.

I heard a number of New Zealand Symphony Orchestra concerts here last year and intentionally sat in different parts of te hall to judge the acoustics. Except for seats directly above the orchestra, the sound was amazing. And the setting! A neo-Baroque style building built in 1911 and restored in 1997, it's pleasure to look at and a treat to be inside! The thunderous organ deserves a review of its own. Alas, the public can only see inside if they go to a concert (why no guided tours?) so go to a concert!! Upcoming shows on the Town Hall web-site.
