This location has great views across to many of the islands, especially Rangitoto, Browns and Waiheke. Learn about the eruption, the burning of the first too. See the 3 pou representing the first landing of the people, and also the woman stranded on Browns. There is also a WWII memorial to the crew of the Achilles.

Loved the walk up to Archilles Point lookout from St Heliers but you can also drive. You’re rewarded with panoramic views across the Hauraki Gulf that sweep from the Auckland City Skytower, Tamaki Drive, the bays beaches, Rangitoto and Waiheke Islands and Musick Point to the right.The lookout is superb and always clean. The lookout platform is safe and secure and always has visitors. Love that there is the history and information about Archilles Point too. Well worth the walk and a well preserved and maintained part of Aucklands history. So glad we came.

Driving past Mission Bay and St. Heliers Beach you reach Achilles Point. You get scenic Bay and Island views. You also get beautiful city views from there. I have been there number of times.

After the Mission Bay Beach, my sister drove me to the Achilles Point. The views from here were simply fantastic. We spent a lovely 15 minutes here admiring the lovely views while enjoying the most lovely sea breeze.

Achilles point has some of the best views in Auckland. You can see the city and the coromandel peninsula. Make sure it is good weather though because there is no shelter.
It is a modern viewing point with a plaque for the ship that it was named after.

The views from here are amazing. This is one of the less publicised locations but very convenient to get to by car from St Helier's. Named after a famous naval vessel the location has a viewing platform that affords a great perspective of Auckland but visit on a fine day when not windy.

The views back to the CBD are amongst the best. The drive there is beautiful and worth the trip.

Breath taking view with strong winds. Three Maori God statues are present. Very romantic point. The blue sky and the mesmerizing blue green sea will make you forget all your worries

This is a great end spot for a walk along Tamaki parade . You can begin from the city Viaduct and follow the road through the lovely seaside bays Okahu,Mission, Kohimarima and ending at St Helliers bay where the beach road takes an inland bend at the childrens park. This is where you pick up Cliff Road on the left and follow the road to Archillies point.
This is a 10 km flat walk with a shared path for cyclists and pedestrians until cliff road where the only hill begins and where you must use the foot path. The views along this walk are fabulous and unhindered across to Rangitoto and there are lots of toilet and cafe spots along the way . There is a bus option that ends at Kohimarima if you are not so inclined and so you only have to do the short uphill walk.Also a growing number of scooter and bike hire options ..
Along the way notice the beautiful Parnell pedestrian bridge , the wee seahorse sculpture atop the Okahu bay toilets, Rangitoto and of course as you get to the end sit and take in the view over the Hauraki and back to the city. There is limited parking at the top of this exclusive street if you absolutely have too or have disabled travelers .

You must visit this place on a clear day just for the views. It is easy to reach as you can drive up to the point. There's an extended wooden platform that gives views of the sea, Bay, beaches and the islands nearby. There are also some Maori statues.
