Decided to go to Parnell. Saw a sign and decided to walk to the gardens. Tricky to find but follow the street signs. It's winter obviously limited really roses. Small garden great view at the lookout point. I agree with the general consensus. Nice but...More

Stroll around this very pretty garden, have a picnic or coffee etc at cafe. Very relaxing place to visit when on holiday.

The gardens are lovely and well maintained. I enjoy going there to have a snack on their park benches. The sparrows are excessively friendly and will eat out of your hands whether you like it or not.

Parnell is a lovely district of Auckland to walk round but in the heat of the summer it's tiring. The Rose Gardens are an absolute delight and a peaceful and tranquil haven. They are quire extensive with lovely resting places where it's possible to relax...More

This is a nice area with great views of Auckland and mission bay, great for kids to run around, good for picnics. It is free, has street parking and is a short walk into Parnel which it a nice shopping area.

A great attraction for gardeners. A tremendous variety of roses that are labelled and well cared for grounds. And a free attraction to boot!

What a treat to walk through the rose garden. While traveling, it is lovely to stretch and get a stroll through a garden. The roses were in bloom and they smelled like roses. We enjoyed the garden then walked through the park past the beach...More

If you enjoy roses, this is your heaven! There are over 5000 varieties of the rose and the colours and fragrances are more than words can describe. The beds are easy to walk through and enjoy.

There will be some flowers in August, - it is the end of winter in Auckland, so they won't be at their best. The gardens are still worth a visit. Enjoy

Wouldn't be much to see as it's middle of winter and the plants and roses are dormant.
