This is an architectural gem right on the waterfront beside the new extension to the harbour. It is very photogenic especially if you cut out all the new. There are also cafes etc on the ground floor. It still fits in nicely with it's surroundings.

As a architectural structure it is impressive from the street but that is about all you get to see of it, save for the gift stores on the first floor.

Built around 1912 - 1915 and has been the hub of water transport for over a century. I have used it since ferries left there during WW11 and seen many changes and upgrades. Definitely an Auckland Icon and photogenic!

So much to see and travel by ferry. Theirs rides to outer islands and visits to see the eights on the cost ine of Auckland. Just wonderful to see by ferry. Several terminals for different destinations around Auckland.

A lot of money was spent some years ago to make this grand old lady look beautiful again. Sadly to enter through the Eastern end (nearest Queens wharf) is a less than best experience. The place is dark and dowdy. Thank goodness for the views on the waterfront area. That's worth a look!

Check to make sure you are at the right terminal....each wharf has their own ferries and there is one way over at the north Wharf of the Wynyard Quarter There are shops for quick purchases of food etc. Nearby....everything is clean and well organized You can also find small boat charters along the way as well
