Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The park is abundant with greenery, providing an excellent route for physical activity. You can immerse yourself in nature and observe some sheep among other things. The playground is decent but could use more diversity. The skateboard track is quite disappointing, seemingly designed for tyres rather than skateboard wheels. However, the park’s vastness could keep you occupied for several hours. A leisurely stroll around the park and up the hill to take in the views could easily take up to 2 hours.

Short and cheap train journey from britomart to green lane station, about ten min walk gets you into the park and then loads of different ways to walk to the top, easy even for pensioners like us. Great views, could do with a board telling you what was where at the top but otherwise a great place to visit. The oldest wooden house in the north island was great and made me realise how lucky we are to live in a country where even the local church was built 750 years ago. Take the train and visit, well worth it

Long climb up! I think there is only one way in, through Olive Grove. Get to see sheep along the way. Cool weather and strong winds in early November, saw many locals jogging up and tourists taking the climb.

This hill was once the site of a Maori fort, the largest fortifications in the Southern Hemisphere. It is also a sacred site and burial ground. The steep climb to the top allows you 360 views of greater Auckland, the city, harbor and burbs. The reward is worth the 25 minute climb.

This park is adjacent to Cornwall Park so it's best to visit both on the same day. It's a volcanic peak where you can view the city of Auckland. On the summit of the hill you can see an obelisk with a bronze statue of a Maori warrior.

One Tree Hill is a good place to visit anytime of the day. You can have the view of the city which looks so pleasant during night with the city lights. It's a challenging walk going up there but it is worth it. It's just a little bit windy though so prepare to bring jacket during cold days.

The car parks are safe but there is about 30 car break ins a month if not more .It is safer to take all valuables like cameras ,PASSPORTS and other important items with you instead of leaving them ,Two people recently visited the mountain before departing for home over seas there passports were taken so be careful . Otherwise it is a wonderful place ..

We walked up one tree hill it was lovely, only took about 20mins to get to the top. Amazing 360 views of Auckland city. There are a few paths through the long grass and over the paddocks that we followed on the way down. There us a cafe and a playground in Cornwall park as well.
A great free activity to do with it without kids.

This is a peaceful place, good sense of countryside. We visited here on our first day in Auckland. The scenery is really great -- very green and hilly. The obelisk is a good point to direct your walk to.

I heard that One Tree Hill has recently been made car-free. I'm traveling with my elder parents. Can I take a cab/bus to the top so that they don't have to walk more than 15-20 mins?
Written 9 January 2019
Hi Harsh, yes the summit has been made vehicle free in line with the historic and cultural sensitivity of the area also safety for those walking and sharing the road. However if your parents have their senior or disability cards with they can get access from the barrier . You will need to have these with you though and it may be possible to check with the park before you go to ensure that they will be accepted .The summit is well worth the walk up and one of the best free vantage points.

Driving it's about 3k from gate to summit. Walking is a bit shorter and a gentle steepness at the end obviously. My daughter and niece ran both ways but stopped off at the coffee van on way back. Scrounging that off me. Choose a nice day though.
