Mount Eden is home to a volcanic crater. You will get magnificent views of the city from the top. Be prepared to walk a bit nothing a normal person can't handle.

Short walk up to the top from the car park gives a great view over Auckland even on a not so clean day. The crater is impressive and makes for some good photographs.

Everytime I'm in Auckland I try to make the effort to run or walk Mount Eden. It's inner city but once you get up on the track you feel like you can actually breath, have your own space and some room to think. I usually...More

Really recommend this walk. It's not often you can get this close to a volcano crater. The views of Auckland are spectacular.

An easy walk for a sunny day. Stretch your legs and enjoy some cool city views from the top. Perfect if you’re in need of some fresh air but don’t have a lot of time.

The reviews are accurate with a 1.5 mile, 45 minute walk from Central. The walk is generally uphill but pleasant. A good way to wake up and burn some calories. The views were well worth the huffing and puffing. 👍😄

It's a doable walk and so beautiful for sunset! You can take a bus from CBD but you can also walk from the city centre, it's about a 45 minute walk. Highly recommend this walk!

Ran up the hill from city. It provides quite a high elevated gain (almost 200 m). View at the top is very good and it is worth the energy spent. Can see 360 degrees of Auckland from the top. Good to spend time there even...More

Hi, i think it depends on your level of fitness and if you are walking from the road all the way up or from the small car park. A small torch or torch from your mobile is enough to get you up and down safely. We never had... More
