Auckland Viaduct Harbour is a facinating place to have a good wander about, Grat bars and restaurants. Sights to behold if you are interested in BIG boats. If the "COMO" is tied up have a look! Wow!! The museum is worth a visit and you must take a pic under the hull of the Americas cup yacht
GOOD GEORGE is a worthwhile stop for a cocktail of something more substantial. Just take in the scenery and watch the people. Don't get caught on the top of the harbour bridge when it is on the way up!!
Great sailing trips out of the harbour

Always a buzzy place to visit, but totally fabulous with the America's Cup vibe and activities underway. There was a huge contingent of volunteer ambassadors enhancing the experience, welcoming visitors, interacting and promoting the city and the cup. It was such a great atmosphere. We spent many hours exploring, bar hopping and watching the contenders embark and return from their practice sails.
It can be a cool breeze on the waterfront as I discovered, so it is worth having something warm stashed.

There is so much to do here and with the America’s cup plans there is a lot of building happening around the harbour. We found lots of trendy places to eat and have a drink with friends. It was equally lovely to just walk around and see the very expensive boats and yachts in the harbour.

We needed to utilise The Luggage Hotel for the day, which is right at the Viaduct, and we were really looking forward to spending time down at the Viaduct. Walking around, there is a lot, and I mean, a lot of construction work going on there, so it's pretty noisy, but the bars and restaurants on the water are still open. I agree with a previous reviewer that despite all the construction works, that are a necessity in life, the harbour itself is really cramped, and the restaurants and bars are all really close together. We went back to have a drink at a couple of places later in the day and it was nice looking out over the old timber sailing boats, but again, so cramped.

This harbour is the focal point for all the day trips by boat from Auckland. There are also loads of eateries of different styles and cost. If you just want to amble about on a casual walk there is plenty of space to do that. It is usually busy, pretty flat so not a strain for those who can't do hills and loads of places to stop and take in the sites. Close to the main CBD and shopping streets but at the moment be prepared for lots of road and infrastructure works as the whole area is being upgraded and more heavily pedestrianised so be ready for diversions and plenty of construction work

Viaduct Harbour is a amazing place to visit whether it is day or night. Night has its own magical view. Facing city and you see the Sky Tower which looks awesome in photos at the background with boats/sea/ buildings and of course the Sky Tower with its colors.

We regularly stay in Auckland and always do a lot of walking around Viaduct Harbour. Pleasant place to walk. There are lots of restaurants to choose from if you are looking for a meal, but some are quite expensive. This time we walked down a bit further into the Wynyard Quarter and ate in the Auckland Fish Market down there.
At the moment, with all the road works it is a bit of a hazard to get from Britomart to Viaduct Harbour!

This is a lovely place to head to for wasting away a few hours either watching the boats and people and having some great food or drinks. Lots of very good restaurants around the area and a good place to be close to when choosing a hotel. Well worth a visit

It is amazing that Auckland is surrounded by water but hasn’t really made the best use of the opportunity this provides. The Viaduct precinct is a perfect example of this. The idea is great and some of the restaurants have made best use of the space they have but it still feels cramped rather than open as Harbour locales should. Hopefully the port will move and this will become more welcoming and maybe the America’s Cup Ocean Race will help with finds pouring in.

So many restaurants with every kind of food you could ever ask for. There must be at least 50 restaurants in a three block area. The marina had many many expensive yachts. The river walk was great.
