Think this place is underrated, after visiting the big Westfield shopping centre which is a bit sterile. Caught a green bus from Auckland CBD and we were pleasantly surprised with the small shops and nice eating places. We found original products not found anywhere else. To be recommended, for those who enjoy browsing for original products and eating. Had a... More

Parnell is another Auckland neighborhood that is packed with small shops and restaurants representing cuisines from all over the world. There is also a market on the weekends, though make sure to go in the morning because it closes around noon.

You'll find shops you need. Likewise many kind of shops are located along the street. Near the street, there is a museum "Auckland war memorial museum".

A small weekend food market is held in the carpark of the Uni just off the main road. There was plenty of variety - smoked fish, fresh cheeses, tomatoes, chocolate cakes and specialty breads. We bought a wide sample and had a very satisfying picnic under an umbrella at the tables in the centre of the market. We were in... More

This area of Auckland reminds me of the 60's or before. Nothing really special about it. We strolled over to the park with the museum and enjoyed that much more. Would be down the list of things to do unless you have plenty of time.

Wonderful street full of art galleries, shops and restaurants. Bought a Maori mask at Elephant House and loved the galleries

Found a super place for breakfast or lunch, The Little Big Cafe at 119 Parnell in Auckland. Strongly recommend!! Maybe best breakfast ever!! We had Fresh Toast and Eggs Benedict... both were SCRUMPTIOUS and beautifully plated. I WANT TO GO BACK!!

It is extremely easy to get to Parnell since the Outer Link bus route goes along the Parnell Road. The area is a bit smaller and quieter than Ponsonby but still very attractive to visit. A lot cafes and restaurants as well as art exhibitions. Price level varies a lot.

There are lots of lovely shops and cafes along the streets here and you can see that it is slightly more upmarket. Lovely area with plenty of art shops.

Nice quaint village with lots of unique local stores and restaurants. Also nice to have a stroll and window shop or just grab a bite to eat or latte outdoors. We got here on the hop on hop off. Would recommend to spend a few hours in this area before or after lunch.
