From the open top bus literature we read about the attractions offered by Parnell Village - so we went there by taxi! It does indeed have many very interesting shops, particularly in art pieces, sculptures etc. I was very sorely tempted by a number of...More

It's easier if you're walking to go downhill and work your way down the street criss-crossing as you need to

Parnell is great for walking along the streets and people watching at one of the many cafes. They are some lovely galleries and shops to browse.

Beautiful area to explore all the lovely restaurants, cafes, shops, pubs and the most beautiful churches. Highly recommend for lunch a place called New Flavour (near a chocolate shop) upstairs. We had their lunch special and it was a lovely chinese experience.

Parnell, with Parnell Road at its heart is a great suburb of Auckland full of cafes, restaurants and art galleries. The coffeee is great and less expensive than elsewhere in Auckland. Great views over the city and toward the harbour.

Parnell is an odd place, housed by the super wealthy, the main shopping drag could be from any town in New Zealand. it`s kind of average at best. lacks any main theme, seems like you could still buy cotton for sewing and overpriced crab meat...More

I am so very glad that this funky relic of old Auckland was saved from demolition. Too bad the harbour area wasn't offered the same consideration. Parnell is full of fun shops, boutiques, cafés, restaurants and people. Go!
