Came across the tram by accident on Sunday. It only operates now on Sundays and Bank Holidays, and because of road works can only operate for a shortened part of the route.

Driver was fantastic, loved the 93 year old tram and cost a dollar for all day.

Rode the tram today. Discovered it almost by accident. Fare was a gold con as part of the road where the track is situated is undergoing redevelopment work. Great value for money and very friendly and passionate staff.

This short tram trip would be great for the kids and is informative and fun for the adults too. For only $2 it's well worth taking 20 minutes out of your day, then take a look around the fish markets and enjoy lunch at one of the many places to eat.

If you like old trams which I do, it is superb. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their trams and the local area, driving smoothly and giving a good commentary. The circuit is round a changing developing area. The art work on the tramshed is worth a look. Children seemed to be enjoying the ride and at $2 per person or $5 for a family all day ticket, it is not expensive. A must for the tram enthusiast and a pleasant relaxing ride for everyone else.

We loved this. Classic old tram with seats that switch directions. Sweet commentary from the driver. Very cheap, and your ticket is valid for 45 mins so we just stayed on an rode round 3 times! (The kids were loving it ;-) a lovely addition to the viaduct harbour area.

You need to be realistic about what this is and not expect too much. For $2 it is a fun trip for littlies and an eye-opener for an Aucklander who has obviously lived under a rock and not realised the extent of the Viaduct development.

It is quite exciting of taking the train around the wharf, this place is quite new to many people, there are many restaurants in this area. The train will take you circle the place within 15 mins, the driver is really kind and friendly, and it only costs you 2 bucks for an adult, you can hop on and hop off as many times you want, but yeah, 15 mins trip is too short in deed, hope it will be extended in the future.

Now the ticket is cheaper (than before). From previous $10 all day, now the ticket is $2 ALL DAY adult, $1 (5-15 yr old) and under 5yr is free. Well, at least much cheaper than before.

The route is still the same, circulating the local roads at Wynyard area, no change, same route.
The Driver (which is also the Train Conductor) was very friendly and she told the history at Wynyard precinct well.

Some people think the route is too short and not worth for the ticket (previously), but now with the Council Intervention (for the cost) the ticket become much more affordable for pubic to enjoy the Wynyard waterfront.

Put it his way, you visiting Wynyard area not only for the tram ride, but also for the nice playground (if coming with small children) or you want to get great experience dining or lunch at plenty of restaurants available at this site. And every Friday night there is a free film at Silo Cinema, bordered by Silo Markets, serving great food, art, accessories, clothing, crafts and more.

So, the tram ride is the add-on or part of the whole trip to enjoy whole WynYard Water Front.

went on this when 1st established, though pleasant the route was short, so expensive for what you get. As are most of the bars, cafe & restaurants when you have children to also feed. Otherwise a pleasant tourist experience for couples.
