Well, where do we start?! Everything about this tour was fantastic! From pre-tour information, ease of booking, airport transfer, delivery of bike, motel accommodation en route,pre-booked activities, right through to return of bike and collection of suitcases at the end of tour, all worked like clockwork and the service from Paradise and their friendly, helpful staff was faultless.

The itinerary took us to all the best parts of NZ on fantastic biking roads - great riding and superb views around every corner. The comprehensive itinerary information also meant we didn't need to spend time researching each place along the way.

The motels we stayed in were all excellent and conveniently located within easy walking distance of bars, restaurants, beaches etc.

Due to flooding and road closures we had to change our itnerary for the last couple of days of the tour but we simply contacted Paradise and they rebooked our accommodation, gave us an alternative route and generally ensured that we were safe and well.

This really was the trip of a lifetime. Thankyou Paradise and thankyou New Zealand!!

If you want to ride, on an essentially brand new bike, on traffic free roads that sweep and swoop through glorious mountain and coastal scenery, through forests by lochs and waterfalls and yes, inviting wine lands, then this is the country for you. With the added bonus of (un)natural wonders, a different culture and the friendliness of locals, what’s not to like? Certainly not the great accommodation and food on offer. We thought the 21 day self-guided tour would enable us to experience what New Zealand had to offer. Little did we realise we’d only scratch the surface and that the tour was simply designed to entice us to come back for more.

It wasn’t all plain sailing, perhaps because we were on a bike and perhaps because our North to South Island ferry crossing was in 170Km/hr gales, but that’s where Paradise Motorcycle Tours came into their own. We were advised prior to the tour to come prepared for all types of weather and we were glad we did because New Zealand kept us entertained with a “one in twenty year storm”. With bridges and land under water and landslides on all sides, travel South was halted for several days. Without any fuss, new accommodation was organised, traffic updates provided and the proposed alternative routes were cracking and suggested you could just shut your eyes, stick a pin in the NZ map and the job would be a good un.

When the route South did open, we headed off and soon experienced the joy of not one but two punctures. How we laughed! Once again Paradise Motorcycle Tours came to the rescue, reorganising accommodation and the timing of futures trips to ensure we didn’t miss any of the pre-planned experiences. Result!

We didn’t expect New Zealand to disappoint but neither did we expect the Paradise team, in particular Wayne & Martin, to make sure it shone. We’ll be back.

I haven’t even arrived back in the UK yet whilst writing this. Honestly, this trip was three years in the making down to Covid but we finally made it. If you’ve never been to New Zealand before then you’re about to be blown away, but I’m not here to review the country.

I rode pillion with my dad on a BMW 1250GS, we booked the 21 day March 2023 tour of both the North and South islands. We were told that the North was the appetiser and the South was the main course. This was absolutely the case but that doesn’t take away from the beauty of the North island. There was honestly a “WOW” around every corner and you couldn’t see it coming at all.

I’d like to thank Mike and Martyn for being exceptional guides and being as accommodating as possible. The effort and work put in by Mike to arrange for activities on our days off were next to none! (We still haven’t found the unlucky person causing all the cancellations though!). Mike adapted and changed things to suit the groups needs such as more breaks and changing activities for us to see Hobbiton. Martyn’s knowledge of the areas and history were exceptional with personal touches and hints added in!

The hotels and meal choices were amazing with most nights spent eating together as a group with no pressure to do so! I won’t put any spoilers about which hotel was the best but they all have their own little quirks!

I’d recommend raising any concerns as early as possible to get the best from the tour as Mike will do what he can to help.

Lower Buller, Coromandel, Milford Sound, the road to Mt Cook on the penultimate night were some of my favourite rides as a pillion.

Thanks Mike, Martyn, Joe and Sue for being helpful and I hope to see you all again! Thanks to our group too, you were all fantastic!!

We arrived in New Zealand after a 6 hour drive to Toronto and then 22 hour flight from Canada , we arrive in Christchurch and stayed at the Commodore Hotel and the next day where greated by Wayne who delivered us 2 brand new BMW motorcycles with basically a few hundred km on if , they where flawless and zero issues during our travel , we travel off season and weather was pretty much perfect during our 11 day tour of the south island , the tour was well planned with lots to see and enjoy , hotel accommodation where comfortable and restaurants and cafe where endless and not one bad meal .
This adventure has taken us on helicopter rides on Glaciers a must great value , best $300 I ever spent to Milford Sound boat tour where we hit the perfect storm of bad weather , cold ,lots of rain but instead of 6 water falls falling from the mountain tops there where thousands if not more , even tour operators took pictures of this event.
Beautiful, spotless , friendly country , will hold memories forever and we Thank you for this opportunity.
Great Company to deal with , highly recommend.

If you are reading this then you must be considering a motorbike tour in New Zealand. We recommend Paradise Motorcycle Tours who are specialist tour operators and the best company to organise your trip.

We have recently completed a 28 day self-guided tour of the North and South Islands, departing from Auckland and finishing off in Christchurch. What a fantastically well organised tour of this amazing country.

We started planning six months before our intended trip. Communication with Brenda was excellent, not just before the trip but also during our time there. We had a small hiccup at one of our motels which Brenda sorted and booked another within the hour whilst we sat in the sun enjoying a coffee; we could not ask for better service.

Paradise Motorcycle Tours are an excellent team for arranging all of your touring needs. We opted for the R1250 GS which was faultless, delivering as you’d expect on the fast sweepers and the tight twisties…..and there are plenty of them!!

Our bespoke itinerary was provided before the trip and was very comprehensive (93 pages!). The information in the itinerary gave a description of what to see on the way, distances and mileages along with accommodation details and places nearby to eat.

The pre-programmed Sat Nav didn’t disappoint and the soft luggage worked well.

Our motels and hotels were all within walking distance of restaurants and bars; although some motels had excellent cooking facilities as an alternative. Paradise Tours seem to be well respected throughout the country and most of our rooms were ready for us before check-in time when/if we arrived early.

The option for airport transfers by Paradise is yet another bonus.

Paradise Motorcycle Tours make it look so easy; they have years of experience behind them and it shows.

We finished our 28 day tour at Christchurch but we would gladly have turned around and done another 28 days’ ride back to Auckland.

A huge ‘thank you’ to Mike, Wayne, Mark and especially Brenda for a trip we will never forget.

23 day fantastic self-guided tour of north and south islands of New Zealand. PMT did a great job of organising accommodation and suppling a route plan (and satnav). Giving us the freedom to travel at our own pace and stop to see what we wanted to see, including some detours from the main route. BMW didn't miss a beat. Would happily go again.

We are two brothers in our 70s - one from UK and one from Australia, Every year we meet up somewhere in the world to ride motorbikes together. Sometimes organised tours, and sometimes (like this ride) we ride free and explore. We picked the bikes up in Auckland and rode for two weeks south to Wanganui and across to Napier. Highlights - the Coromandel Pensinsula (what roads!), the west coast from Raglan down to Wanganui with rides in the mountains - the Forgotten World Rd, Wanganui River Road, the Gentle Annie. The bikes (F700GS) were awesome, we met wonderful friendly people, the shingle roads were a good challenge, the views spectacular and the bends just made for motorbikes. We'll be back to do some more as soon as we can. NZ is so much fun.

I would highly recommend Paradise.

Dealt with Wayne and Brenda in planning this solo birthday bucket list trip, planed 5 months out, they were were prompt courteous and professional.

I opted for a North and South Island ”self guided” trip. Paradise supplied the BMWr1200GS, motels, route, GPS, ferry crossing & Milford Sound boat trip.

Things I would do different next time....visit the South Island only, bring electric jacket, my Aerostich winter one piece & all season winter gauntlet gloves. The wind here is brutal and 4 seasons in one day.

It’s Gods country

All went as planned and I am very happy with Paradise.

Two thumbs up

I have just completed an extended self guided tour with Paradise Motorcycle and would highly recommend this company.

Mike arranged a great itinerary with well thought out extra stopover days, accommodation was mostly motels which I found excellent, consistently top quality with friendly hosts.
The bike was a virtually new BMW triple black which never missed a beat.

My itinerary was programmed into the SatNav and ensured the best twisties and mountain passes were not missed.

I've had a fantastic time and thank Mike and his team for arranging it. Always there in the background when needed ( Mike answered a query at 8.30pm straight away) .

I took part in an 18-day guided tour with Paradise in January 2020. Had an absolutely amazing trip; everything was faultlessly organised both before and during the tour. We comprised 7 bikes (of which 5 were two-up), plus the tour guide and a following backup van carrying our suitcases. A great bunch of people. We were taken on fantastic riding roads, with minimal traffic; the overall pace was good, in that everyone seemed to be happy with it, and there was plenty of time for off-bike activities as well. Unreservedly recommended.
