Butterfly creek was a pretty cool place to kill a couple of hours while we waited for a family member to fly in.

My son loved running around and the train. Lots to do and the food was pretty good. The pricing is what you would expect and I suggest pre booking as it’s cheaper online.

Served rotten food
Jul 2021 • Family
We were served rotten hotdogs, they smelt awful and my kids had eaten some before I noticed. We had a pregnant lady at the table too, very lucky that she didn't eat one...

I complained and the manager insisted that it "was only because of where they were stored" and that they were only "just going bad" (they stunk of off processed meat), that she had eaten one her self and had 30 years of experience in the kitchen. I was taught stock rotation and safe food storage on day one of working in a kitchen, so disappointed to see basic problems like this at butterfly creek Cafe. We were offered the price of the meal as a refund. $13.50. This should have been the entire bill, plus some.

Very risky eating here, high chance of food poisoning with the food safety habits in the kitchen.

Wont be back and will tell this story everytime butterfly creek comes up in conversation.

It's quite obviously a stock rotation issue, because a few of the hotdogs at our table were not rotten. Which shows that they are adding new stock to the container before it is fully empty, allowing hotdogs to potentially sit within the defrosted stock for days before being cooked, very poor habits. Even a fish and chip shop knows not to do this.

Wonderful hospitality
May 2021
Our playgroup used this facility last week. In spite of we are small group and haven't booked before we go, the staff was so kind. Her name is Siam K. She calculated the price as cheap as possible for our small group besides reserved our lunch place in the Cafe for us! Parents and Kids were so pleased with open and safe space. We enjoyed so much. Much appreciated your awesome hospitality! We will visit again soon :)

Fantastic outing
May 2021 • Family
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Butterfly Creek. Loved the sounds of the dinosaurs. The crocodiles looked fearsome and they were huge!
Kids loved feeding the alpacas and the goats. They loved patting the rabbits.
It was a nice outing and the kids had a great time.

Good exhibits terrible service
Apr 2021 • Family
The exhibits were good but let down by the service and the signage. Starting in the carpark there is signage warning you of low lifes and the justice system (quite offensive in my view). Then we ordered coffees in the cafe and after waiting 30 minutes for them, were then told you can’t take them through the exhibits (the signage saying this is by the exhibit entrance not in the cafe where you order). We finished the day with food (ok, and reasonable prices) but then my elderly nanas cup of tea took over 20 minutes to arrive post ordering. Could be a lot better with a more friendly approach and being more customer focused. I won’t be hurrying back.
PS the Nubian goat (very friendly) was my favourite part.

Great place for animal and dinosaur enthusiasts!
Feb 2021 • Family
My 9yo son LOVED the dinosaurs but the other animals were an added bonus!

I would’ve liked to have seen a bit more signs and facts about the animals - types of fish etc, felt like a missed opportunity when kids are asking questions!

Food selection was really average - burgers, hot chips and some stale looking cabinet food was all that was on offer.

Fun for all the family, young and old!

What a great place to visit! Definitely more than fulfils initial expectations. All the staff a so happy and helpful and full of a wealth of animal information.
Difficult to pick a favourite part as everything was so interesting. Goldie the crocodile being fed was awesome and feeding time for the otters was great too. They were so cute! Loved the farm area. The goats were really cool; as were the alpacas, and the pigs. However Charlie the cockatoo has to win in the adorable stakes!
Finally I must mention the cafe. It is so nice to see a full array of homemade food. So fresh and tasty. The brownies were super yummy! Well worth a visit!!
