Philip is very knowledgeable about wine, and in particular the wineries on Waiheke. He took us to ones he knew would give us the best experience. The winery operators also all knew him and felt happy for him to bring customers, as he knows how they operat eand is careful to stay to schedule so they don't get overwhelmed with sudden rushes of people. He stayed discreetly beside us, not intruding but available and happy to answer our questions. Philip is also a great cartoonist - ask him to show you some of his work.

Phil met us at the Ferry terminal and after an explanation over coffee escorted us through the fast lane and onto the high-speed sea vessel bound for Waiheke Island. We visited three wineries familiar to Phil and we were treated like VIP guests.
We selected this tour after reading about Phil's credentials as a local wine expert. He lived up to his reputation and assisted by pointing out landmarks, photo opportunities, and great introductions to wine experts and the local syrah, cabernet-merlot blends and some fine pinot gris. We had a sensational time.

Phil took us through three amazing wineries on Waiheke. He provided great banter, awesome knowledge of the wine and we loved it so much that we’ve booked another tour with him in Matakana. Support local, support Phil! He won’t disappoint 😊

We Had a really cool day on waiheke Island with Phil as our Guide. Even though the weather was not so good we enjoyed our private winetasting Tour. Phil brought us to 3 different vineyards. I did Like His preparation for this day. Already in advance He asked what Kind of wine we Like and what Kind of wine maybe to avoid. So the vineyards only served wines that we really Like.
We Had a really good time with phil. He is very good company and knows a Lot about wine .

I booked this quite awhile in advance. To our luck it was just the two of us. Phil was very professional, knowledgeable and precooked a private tasting at at Mudbrick then Peacock & a smaller vineyard. The tasting were good. I had told him that I don’t drink white & my husband doesn’t eat pork-that message was not followed, but, we were both accommodated quickly. He arranged lunch at Mudbrick, which, four weeks into our trip, was indeed the very best flavorful and delicious meal and presentation. I highly recommend using him.

( Apologies over the pork issue - I had scouted out the Peacock Sky degustation the day before but had no idea that pork was included in the pate.)
As you noted in your review - you were accommodated quickly, so I'm glad that it worked out in the end!

My husband and I booked Phil for a day of sightseeing in Auckland and a few tastings.
We had a wonderful time. Phil is extremely knowledgeable about all the neighborhoods and sights in the city of auckland and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to his historical insights and general insights.
We spent the afternoon in wine country and Phil absolutely knows his wines and wine makers in New Zealand!
I had done two tours with Phil about 4 years ago with my daughters and knew my husband would absolutely love doing this on our first full day in New Zealand. And Phil did not disappoint! He is a a wonderful host.
Thank you Phil! I will be back for another tour on my next visit to this wonderful country.

My husband and I were warmly welcomed by Phil as we met for a coffee half hour before boarding the ferey. He gave us informatiin about the itinerary and also handed us out information on what to do in Auckland.
Everything went very smoothly. We were a private group, so only the two of us. The island is a beautiful place to visit. One of the wynards we visited was carefully picked by Phil, as it was special: little amuse bouche prepared by the chef to go with each wine we tasted. We enjoyed that a lot.
The wines to taste were too young for our taste.
The lunch at the venue Phil chose was very nice, we really enjoyed it.
Overall we had enjoyed a very nice day. Thank you very much Phil!

We spent 2 days touring wineries on waiheke island and kumeu river area with phil Parker.
He selected boutique wineries and two wonderful locations for lunch. The Mudbrick lunch was especially noteable for the fine food and vista looking back at Auckland.
We were slightly ahead of schedule on day 2 so Phil added an additional tasting and did not ask for payment for the extra tasting fee( we paid him later).
Phil set an unhurried pace and made our visit an enjoyable experience.

Really well organised tour, Phil was a great host. Went to four wineries across West Auckland - you could see that Phil knows all the winemakers and this meant we had special attention at all our stops. Great value for money - awesome summer activity exploring our local area.

I bought this tour for my mid-twenties daughter and me. I was our last day of touring after two weeks in Australia and New Zealand. What a perfect outing! Phil was a gracious, kind and well-organized host. The day was glorious and his intimate knowledge of the smaller vineyards in Waiheke Island and the high quality of our tastings and pairings was outstanding. Lunch was absolutely wonderful.
Just recently, we received our well packed parcel of the wines we purchased on tour. Lucky us! We can relieve the Auckland Fine Wine and Food Tour all over again.

Hi John,
I do have Half Day tour options but not to Waiheke Island.
The Half Day tours are to historic Kumeu wine region - 30 minutes drive from the City. 10 am - 2.30 pm
Three winery visits, lunch and sight-seeing.
