You will not find a more knowledgeable, interesting, and kind tour guide than Ewald. He had booster seats for my kids and was super patient with them. Hobbiton exceeded our expectations and was not very crowded due to the winter season. The kids enjoyed seeing...More

HI- We booked our hotel separately, and stayed at the Sofitel Viaduct Harbor which was very nice. Right on the water. Nice café right on the harbor for morning coffee, pastries, quiche, eggs, etc -- in addition to the hotel's very nice restaurant. One of my traveling companions was 81, and certainly not able to walk a lot. She brought her own portable lightweight wheel chair with her to New Zealand. The van was big enough to accommodate it. We didn't have any problems and Ewald was most helpful and understanding. I would just tell Milestone your mom's situation and see what Milestone suggests. In Wellington (if you are going there) we used Silver Cloud as our guide, and Helen specializes in travel arrangements for folks in wheelchairs and the disabled. Hope this helps.
