Amazing First Night in Auckland

We spent our first night in New Zealand on this historic bar crawl led by Darcy.

An Auckland native, he indulged our group in a ton of local history, both related to each drinking establishment and New Zealand as a whole. Darcy was an excellent guide and in addition to being knowledgeable and friendly, had a great sense of humor.

If you love learning interesting history tidbits and sampling great local beers, I highly recommend!

This bar tour was a wonderful way to explore Auckland, all while learning about historical and cultural significances that I wouldn’t otherwise pickup on. Darcy was fun and kept us well entertained while also providing keys facts to the city and country. Would recommend to anyone and everyone as a way to learn about the city.

Been on lots of bar crawls over years of traveling, staying in hostels etc and this was by far the best. All the bars on the tour had an appeal of their own, with a unique vibe but which maintained the jovial, laid back feel of the tour. The tour also lives up to the title, and there was a proper narrative around why we were going to certain bars. The guide Darcy really does know his stuff around the history of Auckland's bars, but doesn't bombard you with info. There's definitely enough time to drink and talk - nothing up tight. Darcy's a cool guy, and fun to chat and drink with, and aside from a good time, the tour is actually a really good way of getting your bearings on the layout of Auckland CBD. If you're staying a few days in Auckland I'd definitely recommend - it'll set up the rest of your time there.

Experience Auckland Historic Bars Like A Local!

This is a great tour! You get to hang out in some of the most historic bars in Auckland whilst enjoying great local beers (most of which have a cool story behind them as well). The tour guide, Darcy, is awesome. You can expect a wealth of historical knowledge, good stories, and lots of laughs along the way. Highly recommended for solo travelers looking to meet people or a group of friends seeking a fun evening out on the town.

It was haevy rainning to do a tour but he did try to do his best.
Even though I am not a very good english speaker, It was easy to understand thanks to his consideration.

“An awesome idea for a tour”
New Zealand history is funnier than I thought it was. It was also very nice to have stops for beers as part of the tour, it helped me to meet other people on the tour and it meant that we had time to talk about things and get to know the tour guide Darcy. The guide was really good, really funny, and he made the tour interesting. I would totally recommend it!

Great fun with a twist of education

I didnt really know what to expect for this tour but was dragged along and ended up thoroughly enjoying myself!
The content was really interesting. Darcy was a top bloke. He was interesting and fun and had a lot of passion for what he was doing. I learnt a lot, met a few people and learnt some history about the city I live in that I otherwise would have been unaware of.

Also, it was great value because drinks in Auckland cost $10 most of the time!

Totally recomended! Give it a go!

Darcy was awesome! Yes do this tour. Grateful for mix of Maori and traditional history. Plus great drinks! 5 stops and over 5 drinks. Loved it

Great Way to Spend a Night Out in Auckland

Beers? Check. History? Also check. Awesome tour guide? Yep, that too. This is as much a drinking experience as it is a historical tour. You learn a bit about Auckland's history while getting to sample some craft beers along the way. Darcy took us to several bars that I would otherwise have not discovered along the way. Thanks for a great time. Highly recommended!
