I flew to Rottnest island with a friend of mine to find basically nothing worth looking at. Although the Perth residents appeared to like the place although many I talked to had never been there. A ferry will take you there but don’t expect to...More
This beach is beautiful. We can see the lighthouse at all times.
The dunes are attractive as well and there are boulders and stones on the beach and in the ocean.
While exploring we saw some marsupials. They were so cute!
This is truly worthwhile...More
We spent a week in the beautiful city of Perth and decided to do a days trip to Rottnest. It was about $160/$170 per person for the ferry, bike hire and the Whale watching trip from the island. It was an absolutely fantastic day, the...More
This island is absolutely worth a day of your time. In retrospect, I wish I had booked a 2-3 day trip. There are 19 destinations in the map, all filled with coves and beaches. There is a hop on hop off bus for 20 AUD,...More
This is an ideal location to spend the whole day. Renting bikes if you are young or with kids is a must as it gives you access to the whole island. The scenery is breath taking and ideal to visit in summer or spring time....More

The weather at that time of year is often wet, as it's the middle of winter which may limit the activities you can do. There is a bus that goes around the Island as well as tours on a bus. If you are in good health and fit there are lots of walks.
You don't need to ride a bike to get around.
It really is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The weather is a gamble at that time.
