Really nice little island to get away from the city and relax. A few kangaroos hopping as well. Great place for a jog or casual sunday stroll

My wife and I wanted to see if we could get to see the kangaroos unclose, but I guess it was the wrong time of day (about 1 p.m., 40° heat) they were probably resting somewhere cooler (unlike us). Really easy to reach, we walked...More

Wonderful spot for an early morning walk where you should see lots of the local birds. All native species of trees and shrubs as far as I could tell in an ecologically well maintained environment. Very few visitors as the cyclists and joggers tend to...More

The Perth City Shuttle is very punctual and very vlean and smooth drive. The driver ensure that everyone get to their seats before starting the journey. Safety is given priority.

It was a lovely walk along the river, quite flat, an easy walk other than the slopes up to the bridge crossing. The bird life is very interesting, the kangaroos are the main attraction. There aren’t many of them and they are small but very...More

Heirisson Island isn’t very large so you can easily walk right around it. I was led to believe that I would see a lot of kangaroos, but I only seen one kangaroo and four ducks.

A visit to Heirisson Island may be interesting if you would like to see an area of Perth which hasn't undergone much development at all in the past 30 years. Passing over the causeway bridge on my recent visit there really didn't seem to have...More

Well, I don't live in Perth, but July is in winter there, and the kangaroos are always on the island, so as long as it isn't raining, I think a July afternoon/evening just before sunset would be perfect.
