Great place to walk by, from the marina to the Sports complex, so much to see. Best do it early as Melbourne can get hot in the summer. Must do place to walk when in Melbourne.

After a 16 hour flight from LA, we checked into the Crowne Plaza. Close (or actually on the Ybarra River). We walked all around ending up at the Wharf Hotel for beer and pizza! Lovely place to walk or run!

Local authorities are constantly looking at improving and reinventing the Yarra. Wander along the tree-lined banks behind Federation Square or walk along Southbank by the Casino

My partner and I enjoyed a pleasant cruise on a ferry from Williamstown to South Bank. The only unpleasant thing was the smell of diesel that was very strong when you were outside. Which was a shame because the scenery was beautiful

We loved this walk because of the art installations. The bridge alone is spectacular. There are many restaurants, cafés and ice cream vendors. There are grassy lawns to sit on and also some benches. A very pleasant way to spend some time.

The Yarra River looks dirty and uninviting!! Come on Melbourne - this is the centrepiece of an otherwise great City centre.More

The Yarra River is brown, but it is not dirty. The brown water is created by suspended clay particles,, which are washed into the waterway from farmlands in the Yarra Valley. The particles sit in the top layer of the water, with the remaining bottom...More
