Always good to stroll through gardens, if you have downtime and in the area would recommend. Always enjoyable to walk through and enjoy this area.

A lovely walk beside the lovely Treasury building. It's so nice to have a relaxing walk in beautiful gardens in the midst of a large city. Lots of interest as well including Cook's cottage. Easy access via the City Circle tram.

A lovely garden close the the centre of Melbourne. We took a wander round and just sat there - very pretty and tranquil even its proximity to the centre. Worth looking round Cooks Cottage.

This is a nice garden in the middle of the city and worth a walk through if nearby or need to get away from the traffic. But not sure it merits a specific trip.

This is a large, beautiful tree-shaded park, worth a stroll. The dwarf english village was interesting. There is also the transferred house of Captain Cook's parents.

Do you mean a small gas portable bbq? If so, I would think that would be ok, except if it was a Total Fire Ban day.
