Easy to get to, surrounded by Botanical Garden and theater and river, plus accessible to station and main sites. This is a great museum with wonderful works of art. Quite varied. Free!

When I go to a gallery I like to have peace and enjoy the moment as I take in the exhibition. Unfortunately they were having work done and the builders/work people were almost shouting thus spoiling any ambience I wanted for my visit. I am...More

It’s an amazing gallery. Looks small, but in fact it is huge with many many exhibits. You can get a bit lost, but there are many helpers to assist. Visited the MoMa exhibition which was really good. But the other rooms are just as awesome....More

If you are In Melbourne and into art, this is a must see. It is free entry, except to special exhibitions, but these are all worth the entry fee. I never get tired of visiting here.

Yes, lots of interesting stuff - kids could get quite a lot out of it, if we spend time talking to them about the art. I'll be taking my 5 yr old as soon as I can. Have a great time!
