We often go to the zoo as we have memberships. I am always pleasantly surprised by how friendly keepers are, always happy to chat about the animals they care for. The enclosures and facilities are excellent and the conservation programs are inspiring. We didn’t get...More

A wonderful place to spend an entire day with family and friends. It's really vast that you need a day to go around the entire premises.

We were really disappointed with our day at the zoo, we seemed to spend most of day looking at animal enclosures trying to find the animals. Sometimes there was one hiding somewhere, but some were empty with no animals. Food was plain and over-priced. Cetainly...More

We have visited Sydney zoo and Melbourne zoo few times now. I prefer Sydney set up, but Melbourne is pretty good too.

Visited on a weekend, entry fairly easy no large queues. Granddaughter (12) free entry & concession prices for seniors. As time was tight tried to concentrate on native animals & butterfly house. Pretty disappointing that no koalas in sight anywhere, let alone at the viewing...More

We love coming here with the kids. The food is pricey so we often pack our own. I highly recommend a membership. We often just do one section of the zoo at a time as it is a lot of walking for little legs

There is more land for us humans to walk around than there are for the animals. The happiest animals were by far the lemurs. They were pouncing around and being very cheeky. There was a tiger in a pretty small enclosure all by himself, he...More

My family went to the Melbourne zoo in April 2018. This is a very small but kid friendly zoo. The only animal we wanted to see was a platypus and that was the only animal habitat closed!! There are Australian animals as... More
