Not so amusing bridge but plays a very important role in the development of central Melbourne. Had a good view of the bridge on our Yarra River walk

This bridge was finished in 1888 and is not particularly interesting to look it. But it does cross the Yarra river where there is busy city life on both sides of the river. Pretty good view of the river from the bridge and and adjacent...More

Princes Bridge was constructed in 1886-88. The bridge, completed in 1888, was the third bridge across the Yarra at that location. The first two bridges had been built in 1845 (timber) and 1850 (stone) in response to the need for a permanent river crossing into...More

Iconic and main transport bridge in and out of Melbourne. Not overall worth the visit to see it but good spot to get a photo if you are crossing.

The current bridge was opened in 1888 and replaced a previous bridge built in 1851. It joins St Kilda Road to Swanston Street and affords good photo opportunities of the River, the city and Southbank. The bridge does not sit very high above the Yarra...More

This is a great place to run. The Yarra Trail takes you from Princess Bridge near Federation Square and into the gardens. You can explore the length of Alexander Gardens, Kings Domain and the Royal Botanic Gardens. In the mornings, if you rise early enough,...More

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the

throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
