Walk along the pathway next to the waterfront. Sit on a bench and just enjoy the the serenity. Amazing peacefulness.

Had a walk along the front near the convention centre, unfortunately it was still recovering from the floods in March, but great to look over the bay, and plenty to see, worth a nice walk.

Within ten minutes from the Hobart CBD. Beside the Derwent River. Sandy Bay is an upmarket area with the yacht club, Wrest Point Casino, University and a great selection of cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and stores. About 15 mins walk to Salamanca Market and the City....More

A quiet and spacious neighborhood, each house has its own characteristics and aesthetic design. Walking in this neighborhood is a very pleasant experience.

Sandy Bay enjoys beautiful large historic homes with magnificent water side views where many of the rich early settlers are likely to have lived. It is only a 20min walk to Salamanca market/art galleries, docklands and city centre.

I liked the beach near the Sandy Bay. There were several boats enjoying their ride. We could see the town and mountains quite clearly. This was a great hike and we enjoyed it. Wortwhile to see!
