Quaint little place
Sep 2021
Was a nice enough place. Have to guide yourself through the tour. Make sure you wear the hard hat as clearance is low

A maze but we made it

Must see if in Coober Pedy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of information and easy to find way around on self guided tour most of the time. Good insight into how things were done in the old days.

Good mine tour, but not for kids
Jun 2021
You can't do the tour with very young kids, the surface ain't suitable for them. However, for all others, it's a really enjoyable mine tour which you can complete at your own pace

A Must See and Buy an Opal
Jul 2021
The mine is small and lots of experience in small spaces as the miners had to endure. The museum had heaps of information on the history of mining. Opals were on sale and information given was very helpful also prices were reasonable. Recommend a must see sight.

Old timers fun!!!
Jul 2021 • Family
There is a lot more to do in Coober Pedy than what mist people think and the Old Timers Mine was a great way to pass time. Staff were friendly and willing to help i any way they could.
The self guided tour was great calue for money and very informative. Issuing helmets at the beginning of the tour for safety helped immerse the kids in the whole experience.
Worth noting that they promoted good Covid practices applicable to the state.

Would recommend this experience.

Value for money
Jul 2021 • Couples
This museum was fantastic for looking at how people lived underground. It's a self guided tour which I always like. $15 per head ans well worth it to look underground in the mine.
