We caught the tram out to Glenelg - along with a hundred other Sunday tourists! It was fine, though very crowded.

Great idea that the tram only stops if people need to get off or to pick up otherwise it goes straight through

Being on a tram you would expect a seat for your ticket. Instead standing room only while someone who does not care listens to their music next to you without headphones who did not pay for their ticket as there are no inspectors. Bring back...More

You can get from Adelaide CBD to Glenelg jetty by tram for under AUD4. It takes a bit longer than car or taxi but there is a bit of charm & nostalgia about being in a tram car. Make sure you get a Metro Card...More

Unfortunately public transport system in Adelaide, could be better, with the exception of the Glenelg Tram. From west to south of Adelaide CBD, transport is free. Then nominal fare to Glenelg, which is a prime beach resort area of Adelaide. Trams run every 12 minutes,...More

There is only one tram going out to Glenelg so it should be pretty straightforward and you can pay once you are on.
