About
SkyPoint Climb takes place on the top of the Q1 building in Surfers Paradise and at 270 metres in the air, it is one of Australia's highest external building walks. Starting on level 77 of SkyPoint Observation Deck, Climbers will enter the open air dressed in a full-body suit and harness. Following their Climb guide, participants will then traverse up towards the crow's nest located at the highest point of the Climb at around 270 metres above the ground. Regular stops will be taken to admire the stunning 360-degree views of the Gold Coast region including the golden beaches, city skyline, and lush green hinterland. Climbers will then descend to level 77. Altogether the experience takes approximately 90 minutes including a briefing session and the time on the Climb course.

Great fun and superb value. The views are out of this world. Unfortunately you can’t take your phone ($100000 fine if you drop anything over the edge!) but if you buy the photos at the end they include photos from the top.
Appreciate you taking the time to leave a valuable review.

    360 View of Gold Coast
Really amazing experience. 90 minutes including briefing session, instructions were clear and detailed. Friendly staff, Jane was amazing. Climb isn’t scary but posing for picture on the edge can be scary. Great 360 degree view, must do. But need a good weather to make most of it.
Thanks for joining us at the top ishwariajitp and taking the time to write a review.

    PHENONOMIAL Q1 CLIMB EXPERIENCE
Definitely put this experience on your bucket list. Our host, Josh, was absolutely amazing and full of fun, along with safety standards. It is a thrilling experience, and the views are extraordinary. Settling in with food and beverage afterwards was just the icing on the cake. I will be recommending this experience to all my family and friends. Thank you, Josh, and the Skypoint team for an amazing experience.
Thanks louisesG3585TU! We hope to see you back again soon.

Sky Climb at Sky Point Observation Deck
What an amazing experience seeing the Gold Coast - 270 m above sea level OUTSIDE THE BUILDING. Staff were supportive the whole way and the encouragement and patience given so I could get the courage to lean off the edge was so great. They were informative about the building and landmarks of the Gold Coast. I’m a bigger lady and found that I was able to do this quite easily. After the Climb we were able to go back up to the observation deck to enjoy the view inside with a great meal. Climb price, photo package and meal deal was very reasonably priced. Great day out from start to finish. Definatley a must do if you’re visiting the Gold Coast.
Thanks for the review! Hope o see you again soon.

    Awesome customer service
I booked a climb with some trepidation. The weather was less than ideal but I checked the forecast and went for the best conditions. However, it all turned to custard and the climb was cancelled as were the successive climbs. The staff were truly amazing helping me to select alternatives. Unfortunately, the sky was not accommodating, and we had to opt for a full refund. This is quite refreshing for a tourist spot. I have many expiring vouchers (in lieu of a refund) that I will not be able to use. Well done SkyPoint, you can book with confidence.
Thanks for the review darryld885. I'm sorry to read the weather was not on your side but we do hope to see you back again on your next visit to the Gold Coast.

    Very cool experience, but . . .
Tour guides do their best to make it fun and worth it. Spectacular views from the top. nice to do it without a window in front of you, just the fresh air. Unfortunately it takes too much time to do all the safety stuff, get geared up etc. Not sure if it is worth the money. Maybe the 2-for-one deal like we did is ok, but I would rather just go to the skypoint and have brekkie inside. Then you can spend time enjoying the view.

What a great experience! Cloud cover came in and it felt like we where in the clouds! 5th Highest building in worlds
The instructor was very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas and mentioned some interesting facts about the Gold Coast and Q1. It was a very thrilling experience and the views were amazing! I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to do something exciting on the Gold Coast!

    BUCKET LIST ADVENTURE MUST DO
Absolutely amazing - staff are incredible and handle every situation with grace & care. The only down side is your not up there long enough (pretty descent amount of time though!). This should be on everyone’s bucket list! The first part is the biggest hurdle & then it’s smooth sailing from there. Would definitely recommend & would go again

Great experience and way to see the Gold Coat
This was a wonderful way to see the Gold Coast - and cheaper than a flight! Very well set up and organised and running to time. Definitely a great way to start a trip to the Gold Coast to get bearings and just have fun! Free hat! The day we went Bri was running the climb, and she was brilliant. Really fun and engaging, and really helpful to my parents, who thought they would be able to go to the observation deck - but couldn't due to it being closed for a private function - and she said they could come back the next day and we two having done the climb could be admitted for free. Everything was great and couldn't recommend it more highly. Wish we'd done it a long while back having lived on the Gold Coast for a year now!

    Lives up to the hype
The experience definitely lived up to the hype for this adventure. The staff are excellent and very patient, and it is very apparent that safety is the number one priority. I definitely recommend this climb. While you don't need to be super fit , I think it will be more enjoyable if you have a moderate level of fitness

Very easy "climb" as such, physically just like a few flights of stairs - tethered to the outside of a building with 50km winds!!! Wind aside, the climb part is easy. I felt very secure and safe. Fantastic view of the Gold Coast.

Regarding the wind - it still felt very safe and actually made it so that you don't get hot and sweaty in your safety equipment. Honestly glad for the wind and not a scorching hot windless day. Don't be put off by the wind!

Our guide Piper was fantastic. Wasn't "over" doing this every day. Chatty and informative about the building and surrounding buildings giving a bit of history but not making it boring.

You get to spend enough time doing the "climb" part so you don't get the shaky legs from a quick ascent. You get to look over the edge and lean back over the edge too - that was a feeling! You get enough time at the top to really take in the view. It didn't feel rushed at all.

This experience was gifted to me and would recommend giving as a gift or just doing it for fun!

Fantastic first experience doing this climb! I'm by no means a fan of heights but I'm glad I pushed myself to do it as it was an awesome experience. Our climb leader, Jake was very friendly and helpful and you'll feel very confident being with him. He made the whole process easy and let's you climb at your own pace and take in the view as you wish. The climb took a bit over an hour start to finish. It's great that there's free parking under the building for visitors too which made the experience even easier. You'll also get some free photos at the end and a cap before you go up. Will definitely be coming back again and would love to do it at night.

This was a really great experience and the team that prepped us and guided the climb were very professional, happy, helpful. Safety first was the message all the way which was hugely reassuring. Only negative feedback is that I think a smaller group would work better. We were at the tail end of a biggish group so had to wait on the stairs while everyone before us was photographed as individuals and as couples, (and they then moved to the viewing deck part) so that meant less time for us at the very top. A better photography system might be useful.
But we still very happy with our experience overall.

This was a major highlight of our trip. We had this booked for the day we arrived, and luckily the storms didnt affect us. The climb instructors were GREAT, had great attitudes and were awesome to talk with and ask questions.
Getting kitted up was a bit intimidating but didnt make us nervous (Despite the cable ties hehe!) and we were made to feel comfortable and calm through the entire process.

Actually going up the side of the observation deck and then above onto the second highest point of the tower was magical. The views were amazing and uninterupted. The entire experience was awe inspiring - a must do while you are there. It honestly wasnt scary, you felt safe and secure the entire time.

10/10 would do again (We almost did!)

We did the 3PM climb on Feb 10th, 2020.

The walk was what we expected and more. We felt extremely safe and well cared for by our guide Jake. Jake was both informative and witty showing the upmost respect to all the climbers. We would do the climb again and fully recommend anyone to also undertake the climb.

This would have to be one of the best activities I have ever done. You are made welcome right from the start. The team are very polite and know what they are talking about. The ride up is awesome and when the door opens and you go up the ladder to start your climb, the exhilaration of being up there takes hold. The views are awesome, I was so happy I did this. Highly recommend this..

We booked and then had to rebook again due to Covid shut downs. The team were really good in helping with this.
When arriving for the climb, you need to wait outside on the orange seats until they come and get you for your time slot.
You go through and do the waiver signing. If you need to, this is a good time to ask for the loo key as once your kitted up, its very hard to get out to go.
You get taken into the suit room, get breathalyzed as you need to be under the driving limit, 0.05. If your over, you cant do it.
You then get suited and kitted up for the climb, takes about 30-35 minutes. Once all done, they then take you to the elevators and up to the observation deck where you start the climb. Takes about 40-45 minutes for the climb.
At the start, you get hooked onto the safety rail, and then your off outside for the climb up the southern side of the building. About halfway up the climb, the railing pushes out into the middle of the stairs and you get your first chance to look over the edge. Pretty nerve racking if you're afraid of heights like myself. Still have to do it though.
You then climb to the top where you get to hang over the edge. Trust the equipment and do the lean. Scary yet amazing hanging over a 270m vertical drop.
Its then to the platform at the top / middle of the climb for photos. Its also good for a look over the edge as well. After that, its a climb down the northern side and end up back inside the viewing deck before heading down in the elevator to the climb center where you get out of your kit. You can purchase photos in various forms, printed or digital.
We had the lovely Piper for our guide, a bright and bubbly young lady who was really knowledgeable and ensured we had a great time. Thanks to the team who made it a great experience.
A must do if your on the coast.
