Even this trip we were in the middle of the Queensland and NSW schoolies the main beach at Surfers Paradise still is the safest beach to visit with younger children. The night the main beach is light up!

Have been on this beach a few times over the last few months. Today there was only a light breeze but it can get pretty wild. Unfortunately the seas were wild today instead with lots of crazy rips keeping the lifesavers busy. Good thing they...More

We came to town to visit family (first trip to Australia) during 'schoolies' (... Teenaged, "school's out!" partiers EVERYWHERE). We were warned that the kids can get a little rowdy. They definitely added a bunch of, shall we say, atmospheric, boisterous ambiance to the place....More

So clean, white sand and crystal water. Pity that can't swim if no flag but still enjoy the time there. Good to run barefoot early in the morning.

Surfer's Paradies reminded me of Venice Beach without the weird people. We were there in the evening and there are small vendors set up in a marketplace at night selling some normal and some weird stuff. Lots of restaurants in the area.

Our experience is that you just leave your stuffit in a bag, take a swim. Nerver ever lost anything. The Australians are very honest and nerver heard about any steelings.
