When in Brisbane the QAGOMA is a must. It sits right in the cultural precinct of Brisbane right alongside the Southbank recreational area. The building is severe on the outside but blends well with its situation. It is multilevel with a carpark below. The cafe...More

This is an excellent place to view and learn about art. It's a very big building with lots of space to move around even with big groups of visitors around (we were there when there were some school groups around).
I didn’t have a huge amount of expectations when visiting Queensland gallery, however I was amazed! It had a huge amount of art with some really beautiful pieces. The only was I didn’t have enough time to see it all.
This place is very special generally with works by international artists like Picasso, Toulouse Lautrec and Degas, and Australian artists like Nolan, Boyd, Olley, Namatjira and Dobell, not to mention the Japanese and Chinese art/porcelain that form part of this gallery's permanent displays.

The gallery spreads over several rooms and you can easily find yourself strolling through the rooms for an hour or so.
Entrance is free...More
