Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had spent a considerable amount of money buying drinks for old and new friends. I had been in a booth since 9:45 pm with friends celebrating and had left my credit card behind the bar for a tab. I had left my jacket on the booth seat that we had been at throughout the night to alert other patrons that the both was occupied as I went to the bar to order another round of drinks. When I returned my booth was occupied with 4 males. I spoke to the persons occupying the booth and showed them the jacket I had left to indicate the booth was occupied and an argument took place. I was removed from the venue and not supported by Timothy or staff who had plied myself and friends with drinks throughout the night. I have been to The Bowery on a number of occasions, but as a local, I will not support a business who does not know right from wrong. I have a pacemaker implanted and was still manhandled by security after they were informed. Good luck extracting additional money from the four English Tourists who took my booth as you will not receive one cent more from me or my friends while the person who gave Tim management responsibilities is associated with the Bowery. Open your eyes Tim, as things are not always as they seem. You are a hopeless manager. Go and find something to do where other humans are not involved as you are not fit to run an establishment like The Bowery.

Popped in for a pre-dinner drink on Saturday night. The service was extremely professional. Wonderful atmosphere. Understated elegance.

I love going to the Bowery for a drink before dinner when we are eating out in the Valley. There's a great range of cocktails, wines and bars and some bar snacks are also available. The staff are friendly and the service is efficient.

Wow! Amazing cocktail bar with an even more amazing cocktail menu. What a choice and we weren't disappointed with what we chose. If you want a night out on the town, this is a must do.

Came here for drinks with another couple on a Saturday night. It was crowded, and the music was very loud, so it was hard to chat. The bar staff are friendly enough, and the place itself has a lively ambience. The cocktail menu is very extensive, so it can be a bit confusing to choose a drink. Some of the cocktails we picked were nice, but some were way to strong to enjoy. They were also quite pricey. Overall a nice place to visit, but not sure if we'll go back.

When you are mistreated BEFORE you go in, you don't go in. Such rude door staff. Wouldn't bother wasting your time going here.

I was here on Thursday night with three friends. We popped in after dinner and it was a great way to end the night. They have a full bar (bar staff in bow ties), great booths but best of all was the jazz band playing in the corner. They were fab. We all enjoyed it. Prices were reasonable too.

On a warm Saturday night in Fortitude Valley, the crowds are looking for great bars, and the Bowery, located at the epicentre on the corner of Brunswick and Ann, in my view tops the list. It has a great atmosphere, with high ceiling, wooden floor, booths, a DJ playing good music, an excellent cocktail menu, impressively huge collection of liquor bottles on display, and seriously experienced bar staff.

Operating since 2003, The Bowery helped introduce the modern New York-style cocktail movement to Australians. The extensive menu book, much like Melbourne’s Bar 1806, details authentically made originals, along with their origins and first mentions by the luminaries such as Harry Johnson, along with their extensive range of creative originals.

In Brisbane for the Riverfire weekend, we visited the Bowery for a cocktail or two after dinner on Eagle Street Pier. We were lucky enough to score a just-vacated central booth. I ordered one of my favourite classics, a Bijou – gin, vermouth and green Chartreuse, orange bitters, and my partner chose one of their popular originals, a "Sherbet Temple", gin with house made mango and passionfruit sherbet piled with crushed ice.

The bar staff are fast, friendly and capable, tending to the NY “speakeasy” style of dress with braces. They also serve iced water to the table with the cocktails – to me, with a liking for strong, spirit-forward cocktails, a measure of best bar practice.

Judging by some of the other booths, the bar also serves a well-selected range of excellent craft beers. Highly recommended.

Went here with a party for celebration cocktails for a special occasion. The cocktails, apparently were delicious. I had a beer and there are a number of craft beers on tap which the bartender was happy to provide me with tastes of and discuss their virtues. Nice decor, The cocktails aren't cheap, but the ambience and the experience make it well worth a visit.
