- Robert D4,725 contributionsGet up close to crocodiles!I had booked a Jumping Crocodile cruise at 1 p.m. I arrived at noon so I had time for a quick bite to eat and a visit to their Crocodile Museum. The crocodile burger was delicious! The Jumping Crocodile cruise was amazing. The crocodiles are capable of jumping out of the water to catch their food. After my cruise, I took a tour of the park. I enjoyed feeding time at Bellairs Lagoon. I also got to hold a 3-year-old saltwater crocodile. I had a wonderful time here.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 1 November 2023
- Tim WElimbah, Australia449 contributionsHeaps of crocs! Great parkReally impressed with this Croc park - an easy drive from Darwin, there are heaps of crocs and and plenty to see and do. The main billabong has 50 plus juvenile crocs of various sizes, which are fed via a zip line that runs the full length - pretty cool! The crocs in the breeding pens are massive, and if you are lucky enough (as we were) you can actually feed the big boys. We also did the jumping croc cruise, which is great value for an extra $18. There is also a range of other wildlife exhibits including emus, ostriches, cassowaries, monkeys and a lion enclosure. There is a nice cafe, and a pretty cool museum attached. All in all a worthwhile visit!Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 May 2024
- C_and_J_LewisSydney, Australia503 contributionsGreat place to visit that provides incredibly interesting information about crocodiles.Definitely worth a visit. The crocodile feeding session provides amazing information about these ancient and resilient creatures. The Park is a research centre which offers opportunities to handle small crocodiles, snakes and pat wallabies (kids love it). They have a range of crocodiles from small to huge!! We really enjoyed the Park and would definitely recommend it to friends. Good range of animals - lions, meerkats, ostriches, monkeys, capybaras and lots more. They have a cruise (we did not do this so can't comment -extra $18pp in 2024). It is $44 per adult to enter (2024), but worth it if you listen to the information at the displays. If you have kids, definitely go.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 15 July 2024
- Nicholas CCanberra, Australia34 contributionsLots and Lots of Crocs! We had an excellent time here, it is a research park with not only crocodiles, but also other animals. You can interact with a few of them by holding some. The staff were very engaging, it was quite a cool day by Darwin standards when we went, so the crocodiles were a little less active than they would have been had it been warmer. The crocodile feeding cruise on the boat was worth the extra $18 to experience it. The museum on site is fascinating with many unique exhibitions and photographs. All in all, a great way to spend part of a day.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 31 July 2024
- Beverley l4 contributionsUnlovedPlace looks unloved, girls at kiosk/cafe should be sacked, if you can’t be bothered cooking such a small menu, telling people an hours wait for a hotdog, the only options available being a microwaved pie and a bucket of soggy chips, there was three staff behind the counter. Crocs were great, croc feeding was done by a lady that looked homeless in a tatty uniform, half the show the microphone didn’t work. Animals great the human side of the park a real let down.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 31 July 2024
- Wayne DomaschenzBallarat, Australia251 contributionsMorning tour of the park, lots of big crocsWe started our day at 9am to see the animals early before the heat, make sure you look up the tour times to see the feeding and maybe the boat croc jumping tour. It was about $44 each for entry and $18 each for the boat tour. We were pretty happy with the quality of animals and presentation of the park, lots of big crocs in close to see. You coul spend more time if you wanted but we left about 1pm to head back to the pool. Lots of reading if you’re into that an lots of feeding presentations to keep you busyVisited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 August 2024

A sad and run down place. The lions and big monkeys looked absolutely miserable and with no team members or keepers around, people we’re throwing food into enclosures and making it worse for the animals, one lady ran down to the very run down lion enclosure to “feed it croissants”, they really need more team members walking the park to stop this kind of thing. The Crocs are stuck in small concrete pools and were antagonized with bits of meat to jump up and make the audience happy.
And it’s not cheap, it’s $40 to get in per person, so you’d expect a little more for the money.

We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your experience with us.
There is much more to zoo-keeping than guest engagement and being present within the park. Our zookeepers work tirelessly to clean and maintain enclosures, prepare all of the animals food, animal training and engagement and create daily enrichment for each animal. Unfortunately, keepers cannot be everywhere at once to ensure guests behave appropriately.
In regards to the crocodile enclosures, large crocodiles are very energy efficient and are happy to laze around in smaller enclosures. Having said that, we do encourage them to work for their meals. This not only acts as a form of enrichment but also educates guests about a crocodiles natural ability to jump for their food, such as birds or bats in trees.
We are always looking for ways to implement customer feedback and we value your input.

We really enjoyed our visit to Crocodylus Park. All of the staff were friendly, informative and helpful.
Upon entry, our first encounter was with a galah that insisted on a neck rub, repeatedly voicing 'come on' and placing his neck in reach.
They have some very large crocodiles. Their size, hearing the power of their jaw close, and noting how they can stealthily disappear from sight and then reappear, speeding through the water simply commands respect.
Highly recommend the boat cruise and watching them raise themselves out of the water to gain food. It's quite something!
Arrive early to book yourself on to a cruise.
Reptiles, monkeys, Australian fauna and a museum are included in your entry.

Great place to see big crocodiles up close (in the feeding pens). The cruise was also good, but short (contrast with other operators elsewhere, such as in Port Douglas).
A mixture of crocodiles and other animals holds the promise of an enjoyable day out, but it is a small park by comparison to its peers and, though okay, there are better options around the country. I do not know how this compares to its competitor facility in Darwin, which seems focused solely on crocodiles. But when it comes to other animals, there are definitely other small zoos that are worth more of a visit.
The two staff members associated with the crocodiles and the one associated with snakes were clearly into their stuff - rolling out what must be a repetitious spiel every hour on the hour. The feeding of other animals, though, was lack-lustre. Some of the animal pens (for example, the cassowaries) seemed small and there was little explanation as to why the third largest birds in the world were in pens only a couple of times bigger than them.
The place was also very crowded with people (though not helped by a school group that came through). Food options were limited in the kiosk. The so called snake museum was not all about snakes, and made for a confusing end to out visit.
All in all, a couple of hours is all you need here, but you can find better experiences elsewhere - a cruise in Kakadu will expose you to crocodiles and other zoos around the country will give you a more enjoyable experience.
Families should look out for the discount through the Lets Go Kids magazine.

Thank you for visiting Crocodylus Park, we are sorry to hear that your experience was not to expectations.
Yes, our staff are very knowledgable and passionate about their animals and thoroughly enjoy educating the public about them. Thank you for acknowledging their enthusiasm!
In regards to the cassowary enclosures, they each exceed the recommended size of 216 square meters by the Australasian Society of Zoo Keeping guidelines. It is possible that perhaps you didn't see the exterior boundary fence as each enclosure is heavily forested to mimic the cassowaries natural environment.
Thank you for your feedback, we are always trying to improve our facilities.
Hopefully next time you visit, you can see some of these improvements.

The staff here are really nice and knowledge I like asking a billion questions and the staff were so patient with me.
The enclosures are small for the crocodiles, I'm told they are regulation size, but from a customer experience perspective bigger pens so they can move around more! The freshwater croc pens were bigger and the crocs there moved around quite a bit.
There are tigers and lions, awesome snakes. We particularly like the massive python near the museum.
The museum is really cool lots of interesting historical info but what let's it down is it absolutely stinks. I think its mould and can be easily fixed by regular cleaning of carpets etc. It needs an urgent steam cleaning.
One last gripe... the table and chair area is not air condition... which is odd as darwin is a very very hot place.
Wed come again as we missed the cruise and the staff are really nice.

Not sure what went wrong with the museum, but there was a leak from one of the aquariums and at this time of year ... I guess it was not rectified as fast as it should be. Sure you will enjoy the cruise when next you visit. Thanks for letting us know.

Very deceptive
All you read on their web information is $15 for adult croc cruise ,. They don't say that it's $40 each for admission then another $15 on top so for a couple $55 each then lunch on top of that. !!!!
Nup , no where near worth it.

We're sorry to hear that you found the ticket prices on the website confusing. The boat cruise is an additional experience within the park, as with other experiences such as the meerkat or dingo encounter. All additional experiences are completely optional. However, park admission is required to enter the park first. We hope you had an enjoyable day at the park regardless of the confusion.

This park needs some major investment. It is very tired looking and the enclosures and animals look very sad. It is definitely not worth the very expensive entry fee of $40 per adult and $20 per child of 3 years and above. I am a Darwin local and ashamed of many attractions like this that just don’t try very hard to do something different or spend some money to make it look good.

Thanks for your review. Sorry we did not live up to your expectations on your visit! Can confirm trying is not an issue, our staff put a lot of passion and hard work into the park. As an entirely privately funded attraction with no government assistance, we are unfortunately on limited resources, but are very proud of what we do. Hopefully if you visit again next time we have some of the new projects complete! Thanks for visiting.

I visited Crocodylus Park with my Dad and left very impressed.
The first thing we did was the crocodile feeding tour with Katie, who did an excellent job at answering everyone's questions and getting people involved. We were able to feed the crocodiles ourselves, which was a lot of fun. At the end of the tour we got to hold a baby crocodile, which was a great experience, especially for kids. There is also a jumping crocodile river cruise for a small additional fee.
After the tour, we had lunch. Me and my dad both had the crocodile burger, which tasted awesome, and was very reasonably priced.
After lunch, we explored the rest of the park. In addition to saltwater crocodiles, the park has lots of other reptiles including freshwater crocodiles, American alligators, pythons and iguanas. The park is also home to several monkey species, ostriches, emus, cassowaries, dingos, meerkats and much more. The park also runs important breeding programs for endangered species, which is great to see.
Each animal has a very informative display that gives you information on everything from their distribution to their diet.
The park also has two adult male lions. If you are lucky, you will hear them roar, which is quite impressive in person.
The park has a highly informative museum on crocodiles and other reptiles that is worth seeing. Prof. Graham Webb, the founder of the park, is a passionate and brilliant conservationist and this can clearly be seen through his park and the work that goes on there.
You are also able to buy crocodile meat at the park, which tastes great. It comes frozen, which is very convenient if you are flying interstate to get back home like me.
Overall, definitely a place you should visit if you are ever in Darwin.

A great day out with family. Miss 7 and Master 5 had a great time experiencing crocs for the first time. Tour guides were great and very informative.
We did the croc cruise and Luke did a great job getting the crocs to work for their meal. The small fee on top if admission was worth it for us as we didn't have to spend half a day heading down to Adelaide river for a croc cruise. The kids loved it.
Sure there are some parts of the park that need a little TLC but overall a great day out and a great experience for the kids.
PS - we avoided the croc show in town to get a more authentic experience only 25min from the city.

Staff at cashier don’t care about the customers.
Before I went there I booked online for the Jumping Crocodile Cruise for 7 adults, in the first page they showed the price of $15 but when I booked the price went up to $40… that normally is the price to see the animals, in the beginning I thought the $40 was included also the jumping crocodile cruise (that one I was tried to booked…) when I arrived to the park I tried to explain the problem to the lady at the cashier and showed her the problem when someone booking online but unfortunately she didn’t care and didn’t do nothing to try to resolve this problem, she told me working there for the last 9 years (and still doesn’t know how to resolve problem and make customer happy…. please change job), in the end she charged another $15 for each person for the jumping crocodile cruise.
Very disappointed when I showed to the lady the problem on the website and told her wasn’t my mistake during the booking. But anyway, the Crocodylus Park are substantially inferior to the lodges which are advertised. The selection of animals is pathetic!

We are saddened to hear that there was some confusion with ticket prices. The boat cruise is an optional add on experience and entry into the park is required first.
We have a large array of both native and exotic animals, however, we are predominantly a crocodilian park.
Thank you for your feedback, we are always looking to improve our facilities. Hopefully next time you visit you have a much more pleasant experience.

Anyone recommend a tour for the park or you can do the cruise , animal holding etc on your own ??

We used a taxi to get there and public transport to get back - some of the taxi's are quite large so it was easy to split the cost and a quicker trip - I think the park is located in Berrimah - the public bus we took on the way home, was longer but we werent in a hurry - took us into the centre of town. I agree with others that the extra cruise option is the one to take when you get there too - its makes the whole visit worth while.

And before you say it I thought this went through to yourselves privately.so wasn't done on purpose and I get its for questions and answers. Perhaps my question to you would be do you believe these enclosures are big enough?. I guess I managed a question and a review all in one. Well diserved though any decent human would agree I'm sure.

I'm going to be writing a reveiw. I sent an email also as I was totally gutted at the extreme small enclosures you have in place for all the animals. I see some of the managementa responses to others saying the same thing and you can never answer what's being said other then they r ok and getting close to nature has its challenges, the only challenge I sore was that they couldn't be any further away from nature and a lion sprays his sent to mark his territory not that he really has to worry about that . My apartment is bigger then there enclosure it was awfully sad to see and I can't believe the obvious many people that seem to enjoy there trio there. It's nothing more then a money making farm for what ever purposes you so choose, meat bags etc. How it's legal I don't know. Yes I agree when you say animals smell etc that's fine but really if you can hand on heart disagree that the crocs and lion enclosures r not to small then so be it, but even if you do support this I can almost garantee you can't think it is. I lasted as far as the Lions so 20 min into the zoo I had to leave. I didn't care for the over priced money you charge if it lines urs and who ever else's pockets then that's good for you. I love animals and would love to work with them and am studying animal phycology at uni, but never would I consider such a place. Hope you enjoyed your xmas with ur nice wages from a place that should be closed down. Those animals would be happier not existing.

Sorry it took has taken so long to see this chain of messages - but navigating around tripadvisor is a new challenge. I cannot understand how you could reach the conclusion that animals at Crocodylus Park are unhealthy ... they receive first class verterinary help whenever needed, the keepers are alert, dedicated and quick to pick up any anomally, and they provide enrichment as standard practice. That you prefer to see animals in the wild, or in open range zoo environments is understandable. But please keep in mind that living in the wild can be a very tough and dangerous business. This year, in tnhe north, perhaps thousands of crocodiles died a very unpleasant death, in the wild, as the late rains resulted in many wetlands drying up. Like sea turtles, perhaps 1 crocodile in 1000 survives from hatching to adulthood. We follow Australian guidelines for space allocation, and as explained with the lions, a grand new enclosure is under construction because we either had to hold two additional ones until this could be done, or euthanase them ... the real choices people have to make. As for the "money-making" angle, if you wish to believe that then go ahead. But in reality, I know of no individuals who put more personal resources into real global conservation problems and research than we do. So although I appreciate your values may be differenht than mine - your right - I sleep better than most at night, and so do the animals under our care.
