One of the Waterfront's coolest attractions is the Wave Lagoon: a palm-fringed swimming pool that turns into a tube-riding, boogie-boarding bucket of fun when the waves roll in every 20 minutes. The fully patrolled Wave Lagoon is two metres at its deepest point and slopes to a shallow area of still water, perfect for families. Bring your book: there are plenty of banana lounges, beach umbrellas and shady patches of lawn. Aqua Zumba classes every Sunday from 9am are a HUGE hit with tourists and locals alike.

The Wave Lagoon is a heap of fun. It costs adults $7 and seniors $5 for the day. When you pay you get a tag around your wrist. You can then come and go all day. There does need to be some more lounge chairs...More

In a destination with the dangers of saltwater crocodiles and box jellyfish, this provided locals and visitors a chance to enjoy safe swimming conditions. The northern territory lacks and surf, but this pool creates a small surf wave. With the hot weather it was a...More

Lots of fun with great waves. Need more shade for when not in the wave pool. A bit pricey too for what you get

The wave pool at the waterfront is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon. It is cheap and secure. I’d happily go back again

We spent quite some time sitting around the lagoon watching the antics of people on the blow up equipment - and it was very entertaining. Everyone is provided with a buoyancy vest, the numbers of people and behaviour is controlled, and everyone looked to be...More

Close to the ocean but free of sharks and crocs. The water is a good temperature especially for southerners. Entry fees are reasonable, especially $5 for seniors. Much larger and better than your average swimming pool.

Very good value, stay as long as you want. Floating rings and boogie board hire included in the price. The waves came in unpredictable patterns for 20 minutes with a break of 10 minutes. If you are riding the waves on a boogie board be...More

We’ve visited a similar pool in Hawaii and this one is definitely much better. The waves are generated in an irregular pattern which makes the “surf” more interesting, slightly unpredictable and enjoyable - yet very safe. We visited mid-week during a holiday stay and the...More

I would recommend parking in the waterfront car park and pay parking at the pay station when leaving. The wave lagoon is in the waterfront complex. We found this most convenient with our children.
