We drove around East Point, which had nice roads and decent ocean views, but it's dry and dusty with not a lot to see. We happened across the Military Museum (hubby is a veteran and he thought it was a complete waste of time) then...More

We found a number of birds flitting in and around the trees on the point including a Forest Kingfisher. Great for anyone into bird photography. Also enjoyed checking out the mangroves and taking photos of the Darwin skyline across the bay.

Worth a visit by car or walking/bike riding. There are many places for a picnic or just to sit and view Darwin Harbour.

We enjoyed driving right to the end of East Point Reserve. Beautiful views, exquisite colour of the water, lots of families enjoying a picnic. We did the Monsoon Forest Trail which is an easy, flat walk, suitable for ages! Saw many birds.

Come here for a picnic or a stroll, a nice time, bring the kids. It is absolutely wonderful; on the way back stop at Trailer Boat Club for a nice cool drink and watch the sunset.

The East Head reserve is free access. With lots of army buildings or relics of them. It is a long walk from anywhere. I dont know if there is a bus. We found buses a bit hit and miss and never went where we wanted. Taxis... More
